The bad news is those of us responsible for Teaganing and Cake pantsing the previous thread are going to be dragged into the street and shot.

I slowed my progress in DA down a bit in order to get RtO and complete that quest, but if it's really one more month, I won't bother... will complete the game and won't buy the DLC... is this really what Bioware wants? not sel their products

Yes, yes, Games for Windows... you either hate it or you put up with it for the sake of the one or two games thereon that you play. Steam is the same way. Sadly, since we can't make them go away, we have to deal with them. Like the IRS that way.
HOWEVER, when they announced a date, that date was met. When they announced DLC content, that content was there. The prices were reasonable and they released all DLC on follow-on discs and editions for those who didn't like the GFW model.
Don't get me wrong. I'm disappointed (not angry) about the delay of RtO because I like DA:O a lot. I want more of the setting and I like my characters. Frankly, the one of my best [computer] RPG experiences in the last five years was when I took my Cousland Family Sword to Howe toward the end of my first run through the game. Great feeling there.
But delaying Return to Ostagar until it was an Awakening add-on would have been better than announcing 'Holidays 2009' then 'January 5' and then 'oops, just kidding'.

Just like some of you, I'm disappointed since I held back from finishing the game for this. I find the timing of the announcement of Awakening a bit funny though, for some reason.

We were complaining about the severe lack of communication from BioWare. It does only take 3-4 minutes to log onto this forum and post something small giving a reason, yet it took BioWare at least 15 hours from the initial delay and it still wasn't anything substantial.
'Suppose a lot of people felt offended or skeptical about this as DA:O-A was announced the very same day RtO was delayed. Personally, I'm not bothered about it (I will be buying Awakening, and RtO when it surfaces), but I can see why some are thinking "Hold on..."

Again, like I said in the big topic that got locked, we weren't (or shouldn't have been) complaining that much about the second delay.

Im a HVAC tech...I come to fix your AC unit...then I babble something about pressures and temperatures and your freon. In the end I say you need to buy this deal to fix it.
Do you really care about the specifics of the issue? No you just want to know when will it work and whats it gonna cost me. At least for most I can say that. There are a few that want a HVAC class on the spot.
Same with this...alot are asking for specifics which they wouldent understand. If they do then why are you here babbling? Go get a job in the industry and do better.

Well some of them are not really complaining, I my self posted a few comments and such, but I got hooked with the funny things that other players posted and laugh my lungs out. I know it can and sounded childish but not all of us want to hear bad news right after you finish work and go home expecting something, but alas nothing is there.
Not all of us are the same, some can play it cool and some can get nasty and say cheeky stuff. But like I said I just want to go back to Ostagar because revenge can be sweet

So, in other words, because they screwed up -- twice -- we're being punished for it. Because they self-admittedly could not, can not, and will not hold themselves to their own standards and timeframes, we're being left in the dark. What, seriously? NEWS OF THE HOUR: Consumers get upset at the seller when the seller fails to produce! Shocking and unheard-of, yes I know! If they hadn't actually done anything wrong then, yeah, I can understand how the constant complaints would be irritating at best and offensive at worst. But the plain and simple fact is that that they SCREWED UP. So, honestly? Deal with it. People who are in the wrong don't have the right to complain about being complained about.

What I find most hilarious is that the reason we're supposedly not getting any peep of any ETA from the devs is because, supposedly, it's only going to make people angrier if they guesstimate a deadline and then fail to reach it again. That's the reason they're giving us.

News of the hour like other game Devs Bioware will no longer post dates of release or deadlines...you can all check the forums or wait for a newsletter to let you know when stuff is available.
Like that better than a release date that gets borked?

The fact they turned around at the very last minute to inform us of a delay was bad enough. They then didn't tell us anything for another 15 hours. No, we all don't need the exact details of the bug, but something would have been nicer.
EDIT: I just re-read the statement. Wasn't even announced as a bug, just "an issue".

Agreed. They shouldent put a date on it at all. Im agreeing with you btw. Dont put a date out if you cant meet it. If you do put a date out and cant meet it...explain it more.

And give more info than "lol gusy it r an issue!"
Blizzard rarely, if ever, put dates to anything. Patches literally drop out of thin air now, with no official date until the day before.

A bit more apologetic and humble tone would suit you, no one needs a concrete reason for delays, but efforts from Bioware to keep us informed and involved would only bring you more loyalty amongst the followers you already have. In the end, the whiners, the immature, and the ones who behave correctly all pay your salary and make the development you do possible.
That said: Love the game, started my second playtrough, and i commend bioware for again making a game worth playing till the end (i'm referring to the fact that a lot of games wich take effort and time to complete end with an enormous anti-climax (f.e. risen, borderlands)

Yep I play WoW as well
I would like a more descriptive deal of the issue. Incompatibility between platforms is my guess. Doesnt matter I love the game anyway and will get it when its ready.
