Here is the latest updated on RTO and why it was delayed.
"Origins has been supported by a large amount of DLC from launch. The most recent of which, Return to Ostagar, has been delayed until the end of January at the earliest. Is there any explanation as to why the delay occurred? Is it solely to release the DLC for all three platforms at the same time, or was there another issue?

Fernando Melo:No, it has nothing to do with platforms themselves. It's a quality issue where, literally, at the last minute, we spotted something that had made it through our own testing, EA's testing and was at Microsoft already. But it applies to all three platforms; it wasn't something specific to Microsoft, we just happened to catch it there first. We probably could have gone with it, but it's something that was serious enough that we felt it impacted the quality [of the DLC] and we made the choice to delay it to give our fans the best experience with it. That was the reason behind [the delay] -- we want to make sure that we don't cut any corners when we do the DLC. There's already a lot of content out, there's a lot more coming -- we just announced the expansion pack, and there's more coming after that. I think the worst thing we could do after that is do anything "to poison the well," to use the expression, or put fans off from feeling that they're getting the best content from us. It's a long term decision instead of a short term decision. "
Take from interview on ign.com

Wait a second. Now that you guys mentioned... Where in the name of the Maker the IGN reporter took that RTO would be released by the end of january?

You know, from all the flak fired from these forums...I think they'll steer away from confirming dates until it's pretty much done or is done for certain. It's almost unbelievable that people became so upset about a DLC, although I think more people were mad that we had no spokesperson saying these things earlier.

But then again perhaps the chain of command didn't want misinformation spread all over the place until they prepared something official, so they tried to buffer it with a vague explanation which may be all that our moderators were allowed to hand out to the flailing mob. I hope they know that I appreciate them even more now for not losing their collective minds over some of our childish behavior except I think, Mr. Woo, was getting close. He still did his job as a moderator. I salute you, almighty Moderators! (Yeah, I'm kissing some serious ass...hope the beard doesn't tickle too much.)

The IGN guy did say "at the earliest" so it could be he got it from talking to Mr. Melo before the actual interview...perhaps?

The issue was them wanting to provide us consumers with better content, can't say just anyone would do that.

I thought it was so they could release on all 3 platforms at the same time.

Many possibilities were raised: from contractual problems to lack of fuel on the delivery truck. But the truth is that i think we will never know the real reason. Not that i really care that much mind you, but actually my prime concern is getting RTO before march, when they intend to release the expansion.^_^

Or maybe it was a lack of a driver, rather a driver at the wheel instead of snoozing in those comfy little compartment things trucks have on em. Posted Image

Well, after all this. It seems clear to me that Bioware has delayd the DLC on purpose just to build more hype up from those of us who waited with a lot of anticipation.

I'll wait too. I'm used to Blizzard and Valve delays, so a few days are nothing. (i'm still waiting for Diablo 3 and the last chapter of Half-Life 2)

Any news on half life 2. Last I heard there was major delay due to the final event taking place in whole new environment that hasn't been seen in the past Half Life epsiodes.

It didn't actually came from Bioware but from IGN and the former didn't contest the estimated availability, this is way better than anticipating the launch within days, this keeps people from geting more angry of their delayed cake err DLC.

I'm just hoping we don't need to wait a month for this thing, and for only 1 hour of content? Then its just another month and a half until the Xpac, I might just wait for that.
