RtO both bad and good news

Assuming nothing has been said, one would assume BioWare would've had enough time to get a better idea for when Return to Ostagar would be released. Granted, I'm not a developer or programmer, so I wouldn't really know.

I'm sure they have an "idea" but...look how well the last two times they gave dates or timeframes went. Unexpected problems arose to make those timeframes moot and it spawned gigantic flamewar threads. It bugs me not to get an idea if RtO is coming out next week or next month but I can kinda see why they're avoiding dates/timeframes this time...

I was really tempted to add some sarcasm into that (I'm sure some of you can figure it out), but I decided against it.

I'm going to make my guess around the 19th. A week or so to get the bugs fixed out, a week for Microsoft to okay the DLC. That seems like a better case scenario, though.
Have we actually been given any official info on the date by anyone affiliated with Bioware, or are we still basing our release date on the IGN interview?

I thought that the 3-ish week timeframe given by IGN was quite realistic but that is given the assumption that the DLC was virtually ready for release at the end of last year and that all which needs to be done now is small fixes and recertification. However since nobody who is authorized to actually speak really knows how close RtO was to being ready on the 5th, it could easily be 4 weeks or even more. I just went back to my old playthrough and forgot about RtO for now (and am trying to pretend that I don't have 400BioWare points sitting around for nothing now).

Not likely unless there is some sort of very tempting item which comes with the pre-order. My studies prevent me from being able to guarantee I'll have the time to commit to games in 3 months which I have today, but beyond that $40 is quite expensive for an expansion (although admittedly a significantly better $/gameplay value than RtO at $5 for what will surely be finished in 20 minutes of gameplay time) and while I do really enjoy Dragon Age, even if I do still have the free time once The Awakening comes out, I can't guarantee I won't be spending it on another game.

Oof. Microsoft identified a small but nasty achievement bug in the final hours. It's now fixed but the entire submission process has to start over again. Understandably, we're avoiding any mention of new release dates for the time being.

Oh for f***s sake! So because the kiddies had to have their e-peen achievements(originally, RTO had no achievements, and certain people screamed), everyone gets to wait.

Is there a way you can take a pic of the response message you got? If you can then I can put that in my topic with the list of facts regarding RtO

I'm going to order a second copy to negate your pouty protest.

Everytime you complain about Achievements, people who like Achievements get a new Achievement....
"Successfully Generated A Whine" It's pretty cool to get these! Thanks!
Achievements add replayability and entertainment to additional play throughs. :-) RtO being delayed to add them is an excellent thing. It bodes very well for future DLCs. Woo!

Go to the message screen, press "print screen" on your keyboard. Open paint, go to edit->paste, blacken out all the stuff you don't want us to see if you have any, then save as a jpg.

Not when you can only get the achievement once. Then it doesn't add anything beyond your first play through.
