i asked rob bartel about release date and he answrd:
Oof. Microsoft identified a small but nasty achievement bug in the final hours. It's now fixed but the entire submission process has to start over again. Understandably, we're avoiding any mention of new release dates for the time being.

Is there a way you can take a pic of the response message you got? If you can then I can put that in my topic with the list of facts regarding RtO

im not sure how:(

if that is true then why they pushed pc realease back too?
btw if prtscn dont work and you running your pc on windows vista or 7 try using the snipping tool, just type it in your start search and you will find it

Achievements add replayability and entertainment to additional play throughs.

Not when you can only get the achievement once. Then it doesn't add anything beyond your first play through. B)

true, but sometimes u miss them and have to go back and get them. Or u cant get them on one play through.

I personally love getting achievments, not to show off, because thats simply a stupid thing to brag about. But because it adds almost a smaller additional challenge, something else to shoot for than just accomplishing the straight forward goals of the game

Google imageshack, or use photobucket. You could also email me the pic and I can put it up if you want.

Yeah but I managed to get all the achievements for the Xbox version without even trying, that's how easy all of them have been. An allegedly one-hour long DLC most likely isn't going to have any that will require any major effort to obtain.

Me too, but I'm fine with there not being any in the games I play too. If they're there, awesome. If not, I'm not bothered in the least by it.

oh the DA:O achievments I agree were very easy to get. Especially the decison ones as all u had to do was save before the major decision part IE the anvil, pick a path get the achievment then reload the save and do it again but changing your decision.

But it still adds that "little" something else

And I also agree, if the game has them great, if not oh well, no skin off my sack

Hahaha, so the delay doesn't have anything to do with any bugs or performance issues or anything that would stop the DLC from actually working. It's just...the achievements don't work right. Great. No wonder Bioware is so intent on not telling anyone anything; it's quite literally the most ridiculous reason to delay the product along with the most embarrassing fail. Especially considering the Warden's Keep and Stone Prisoner DLC achievements are things along the lines of "u completed teh dlc, congratulation!!"

little like cheating that imo, whats the point of replaying the game making diff decisions if your just going to do that?

its not cheating :P

The anvil for example I choose the same path everytime, why? because someone in my party "may" leave if I chose otherwise and I love him/her to much :)

I too rant and rage over information that has yet to be vetted. Let me guess the expansion being 15 hours upset you, shale was held back and made into a dlc to make more money, EA steals souls and the CEO's feast on the first born of shareholders.
And god just told me you touch yourself so much that jesus can no longer cry.

OK, while I'm waiting for RTO and the Expansion (Hmmmm...LOL), I have a question of Off Topic nature. I need a game to hold me over and I'm looking at these two. Who would recommend which and why (PC Version):

1. Witcher - The Enhanced Version

or

2. Risen

SO, which do I play while I wait? I have already been through the game 3 times and now, need to wait for the New Content.

Thanks Gunny!

Got a source for that? A reliable source? I've not seen the devs say anything about it.

Bang for the buck, I'd say Witcher.  iirc, it's based on NWN (Aurora engine) tech, but it's so heavily modified you won't necessarily recognize that when you're playing through the combat encounters and looking at the user interface.  From a geek standpoint, I like that they took things as far as they did with Aurora.

Unfortunately, the graphics overall are looking very dated, especially compared to newer titles such as Risen and sometimes the combat does feel clunky (like there's a delay between blocking and attacking or there is not enough visual cues coming from the hostile NPCs to indicate when you should block instead of attack).  Graphics aside, the other drawback with Witcher is perhaps the zone loading.  It's not awful, but it's just too frequent and obvious that it sometimes makes me impatient and breaks the mood when I'm playing.  This was also a feature of NWN, I guess.  I still think it's amazing what the devs did with that game though.

I've not tried Risen. It looks promising, but as a pure guess I'd probably think Witcher had the better and more engaging story.

Go help the guy that wrote the Bioware quote post the screenshot of the email or something.  Then the topic can be answered and you'll be the hero of the day!

[update]
hagermak created a placeholder album an hour ago - right around when someone suggested to do that and upload the screenshot there.  Which is about as difficult a way to upload a screenshot as I can imagine, but I wish him well.  Hopefully then we'll have a real statement from Rob Bartel about the issue!

I don't mind waiting another month. Better be bug free (mostly) than rushed and unplayable. Keep in mind, even Bioware's employees are only human and CAN make mistakes especially with the complexity of this game.

Btw. did anyone of you guys track the DAO development progress? They announced it at the E3 in 2004 which was in May, if I remember correctly. So we had to wait for 5 sodding years to get it. We, or at least I have survived thus far, we/I will survive another month.

According to Fernando Melo Here, the delay has nothing to do with the platforms.
