Yay, once again the people who steal from Bioware get a better product than those of us who pay for everything. It truly makes me feel like a complete idiot.

Welcome to the world of pirating....

How long does certification usually take, anyway? Anyone know? I can't imagine it would really take days upon weeks for someone to look at some content and say, "congratulations sir, you've been certified!"

I play alot of Gears, and they guys over at Epic are really good about keeping thier community up to date.  They always tell us when an update is submitted for cert, and if im not mistaken its always like two weeks later that its available for download... if approved.

I find that statement odd, how is it they get a better product when BioWare says that they are giving the DLC a quality facelift and these pirates jacked the un-changed version?

What I'm worried about is that despite the fact that it was me who raised awareness to RtO on torrents, and my PM's to both moderators and developers (including Victor), not a single one PM'd me back and asked for the proof I had.

I'll just point out that we exchanged a few PMs. The fact that I didn't ask for your 'proof' in no way indicates that I didn't believe you. Nor does it indicate that I didn't actually do a search myself to see if this thing was actually appearing on torrent sites (which I did).

In other words, are they actually investigating it, or telling us they are so we shut up?

Why so quick to assume the worst?

Relax squid, mistakes are made all the time on games, most of them are exploited or ignored. Bioware is trying to give us a better than average gaming experience.

I believe Squid might have been refencing speciafically the patch that didnt come out for the PC version for several days after release. The patch that contained many of the fixes already implemented in the retail versions for the consoles. In this I have to agree with him completely. That was a mistake of Bioware and shows that we did pay for an unfinished product. It was not evena  day zero patch, which would have been more than acceptable. Of course if Squid wasn't referencing this particularly, well now he was :D

Close but no. I am referring to the 360 version that still is awaiting the patch that is coming with RTO that  I am seriously hoping will be more than fixing the broken achievements. Since we still haven't gotten a single patch.

I don't know why people are complaining about some RTO torrents out there, how do you even know that its the same DLC the Bioware is releasing? There are a ton of game programmers out there that could easily make their own add-on for this game and pass it off as something BIoware might create. I personally would be avoiding these torrents, because you don't know what kind of hidden virus that where put in it to damage your computer or steal your personal information.

The same way every other game hits torrent sites weeks before it is released on the market. Pirates are better than devs at getting the games out there:crying:

As I do not have the x360 version, I was not aware of this. That is considerably worse thann the PC patch issue. Thoguh the game was a bit annoying and I was stuck until the patch happened, the patch did come out. To keep people waiting for a patch to coincide with RtO is ridicolous. Once they delayed it they should have decided to patch outside of the dlc.

Easy there, it's only the close of the second work week in January. As yer sig. says that's the "earliest" that the IGN dude thinks (somehow) that it could be out. I'm sure they'll announce it officially....to quote Blizzard "soon". Posted Image

I am starting to get the feeling that no information on RTO will be forthcoming until it is released.

Especially given the two missed dates....

Happy Days.  Posted Image

Well, time for the owl to move on.........

Well, because I PM'd the devs you pointed me to, one of which is posting in this thread, and he, along with everyone else, never asked for proof.

Why does BioWare need to "launch an investigation" into whether it's on torrent sites or not, when if they had PM'd me I could've given them a direct link to one that not only exists but works perfectly.

I wouldn't have given you the link even if you had asked, I was referring to BioWare employees seemingly being uninterested in seeing the torrent.

As to the people questioning whether it's the actual RtO, it's because the installation is DLC-installation, not a mod, and includes everything mentioned in the description including the quests and items/gear.

It's the real deal, whether we like it or not.

Since only one person has found this torrent so far I doubt it's a widespread problem. Either way perhaps delaying isn't such a great idea if it's only to get a simultaneous release on all platforms (which does seem more and more likely to me). So many games already have console like interfaces on the pc or don't come out on the pc at all. I think it sucks that pc users now also have to wait for the consoles to get a release that may already be finished.

Yeah and then he used SkyNet to synthesise all the official voice actors to make them say things they've never said before.

You're dumb.

As for the other stuff, pirates are a rather sophisticated lot and probably some even believe they are a new age "Robin Hood". For those playing the DLC (which is the unmodified version since that isn't out yet) I'd be worried that these pirates now have a little tunnel into your computer or what have you and you may be in for a nasty surprise later down the line. I think the Sims 3 got jacked before it was out on shelves and the company took a huge hit to otherwise legal sales. There's no better way to sink a battleship than to take the water out from under em.

That's somewhat a pirates goal, to sabotage a companies attempt to keep afloat by offering "free stuff" which may or may not include an added surprise. To combat these pirates, we must help the companies out and buy their legal products so we can continue to enjoy games like DA:O which we consumers provide funds for them to work with. Don yer football helmets and Disney print undies and let's give em what for! Posted Image
