It's kind of crazy when you ask a question about RtO back on page 42 and cannot get a mod or a BioWare person to give a definite answer.

You haven't heard form a mod about it because we don't know for sure. I assume it will work like SP and WK, but take note I'm only assuming.

I don't know why people keeping telling Bioware to look at Blizzard on how to do release. So your telling a great company to go look at a company that makes game crack to keep their customer hook into the game even though there has been no major improve to graphics within there game, no story just mindless playing. How long has Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 suppose to have been released something like 3 years ago. I think Bioware is doing the correct thing by giving a product that the customer will be happy with when it does come out.

Blizzard has its faults sure but so does Bioware and when it comes to release dates its better to just say nothing... I think Blizzard's strategy of hyping a game with an unknown release date is brilliant.

I would say their finanacial figures dont lie. Being a long time follower of both developers I can safely say that Blizzard knows how to give you that tingle of excitment when they announce a game or expansion.

I am of course talking from a business standpoint... I have no real preference either way.

To be fair, I think most people that say 'look at Blizzard' only mean with respect to annoucning release dates.

That is certainly what I meant. I enjoy Bioware games MUCH more than I do WoW. Although I am looking forward to Diablo III

They could easily add this kind of content though. Thats the beauty of making this game so modular. They can almost treat it like an MMO and add expansion after expansion. In fact, if they REALLY wanted to, they could even start to add online, group content. Making it essentially a partial MMO. Part of me suspects this may be the model they are slowly developing.

Uhm no they aren't?

Where did you get your information, as far as I know Blizzard was owned by Havas which was bought by Vivendi.  Vivendi then merged with Activision to create Activision Blizzard.

Anyways, this is offtopic I just took that as a serious slander of Blizzard.  They are still the last real PC game company of substance, and I doubt they will cave in to consolitis for at least another decade (ok, maybe half a decade but Im hoping for a decade).

Remember StarCraft: Ghost? Ya neither does anyone else. They were right there on the edge then they scored HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE
with World of Warcraft. No malice in this post. I am just happy I got a chance to make a SC:Ghost joke :)

Starcraft Ghost was a virtually finished product which any other game company in existence would have released and been proud of.
Blizzard scrapped it because they had contracted out a lot of the work to third parties who did what one might think was an acceptable job if that job were not being performed for Blizzard.  If anything, the saga of Starcraft Ghost and the lessons Blizzard learned (and talks about in their lectures to the industry) is a fantastic example of how they are a company who truly value quality, customer satisfaction (or addiction if you prefer), and their reputation above all else.  Ghost could have easily been released for less than had already been invested in it but any respectable business major will teachyou that you cut a bad investment out as soon as you find it, you dont keep working on it to make the best of what resources you've already wasted.  It isn't a coincidence that they are the most respected company in the industry and despite not lowering themselves to the console market for easy cash, they still manage to be one of the most profitable as well.

I've said it before, but really, the delay for RtO should've been expected by anybody who played ME and ended up waiting for Bring Down the Sky (and also put their current games on hold, only to have such a long wait you could've gone through enough playthroughs to build up all of the speech ranks without putting a single point into them by the time that DLC actually launched). The two situations (from a customer perspective) are starting to look near-identical; unspecified problem causing the delay at the last minute, etc. About the only improvement with RtO is that it wasn't advertised as being already available for free on the box of the main game on launch day.

Honestly, if you don't want to be disappointed, expect it to come out on the advertised date of the expansion or possibly even April. That's about how long it took last time.

You have to realize though... Blizzard is PC/MAC only, DA is PC, Mac, Xbox, and PS3. It takes alot more time and stuff is harder to find when you're releasing content on 4 different platforms.

Activision was sold to a small company that EA owns, and only reason Activision was bought was because EA wanted Blizzard and had to buy the whole company.

SImply not true, in fact you are so wrong that it's almost comical.  ActivisionBlizzard even sued EA Games because some small EA company basically hijacked "Brutal Legend" from Vivendi.

The idea that a "small company" could even buy out a massive company like ActivisionBlizzard is just ... silly, you make me feel stupid for even doubting myself for a moment and believing you that somehow EA might have actually gotten ownership over Blizzard.  Thank god in the real world where I live, that has not happened.

More like they're the last real PC game company.
