I think bioware should work console certification into their buffer so they can avoid "last minute" stuff like this again. Just be conservative and say it will be out later than they think it will be out. No one ever complains it was earlier than expected.

As far as this whole torrent thing nothing was ever said that it was the PC version that had whatever "issue"  Kind of silly to just assume that all the platforms are perfect just because one is. Even tho PC's tend to have some more bugs due to the wide range of configurations.

People you should really take your rage down a couple notches about wanting to know exactly what that problem was. We my never know and the bottom line is that BW is under no obligation to be totally transparent with us about everything going on. And I do not blame them when you see so many going "I love BW, Loved them for years and years, they make awesome games, but because if this one flub up I no longer trust/like/will buy their stuff anymore"  Its silly to expect perfection from any person, animal, thing, or group.

No one wants perfection, just more courtesy and answers.

As far as your argument that, as far as I can decipher, is saying that the pc version should be delayed to coincide with console versions. I think this is an assessment that would make me much less happy with Bioware. I am perfectly fine if they are delaying it for real good reasons. Delaying it because console versions are bugged would not be a good reason. Plenty of dlc comes out for computers before consoles for other games. Right now BW is angering people on all platforms. If the PC version is fine, release it. The people on other platforms will still be just as angry or just as complacent to wait. But the rest of us will be happy we have not been shoved to the side.

If the people who downloaded the leaked DLC can run it perfectly without crashing. Then what exactly is the serious bug that caused the last minute change. It feels to me that bioware said there would be cake when it is in fact a lie.

I said it feels like. Never said they were lying. Just curious to know. Cause i'm seriously hoping the bug deletes the save games or something like that. Take that pirates!

If your someone who is so willing to burn your bridges with someone or a company you have loved and enjoyed for years over a single mistake then yes you are expecting perfection.
The rest is speculation. We do not know what terms BW agreed to to release this game and all its content on those platforms. There very well could be something in there that says they need to release these things to all the platforms at the same time. That the XBOX does not get something before the PS3 does.   Or maybe It is BW not wanting to slight anyone and leave any group out in the cold so they are waiting on it. You continure to make assumptions that BW is free to do whatever they want and sorry to say it but that is not the case.

Owl go check out the Jan 8th '10 thread for updates (stickied top of this forum).

Some of what you are asking is already there, the rest cannot and will not be answered. I'm not sure if you know what console ceritifcation entails but the release date is not in BioWare's hands. If it were we probably would have had RtO a month ago before it had to go through certification the first time (presumably they don't send it to certification without thinking that it is ready for release).

Thank you Timurlane, I did see that thread.

I am fussing about that fact that NONE OF THIS IS OFFICIAL.  The main NEWS section hasn't been updated since 1/5/10, there is still information saying that RTO will be released during the holidays and even in this thread there is no indication (ballpark) concerning when we can expect RTO.   Yes, we have an unofficial reason for the delay, but after 2 delays, the quality issue doesn't wash especially since it came HOURS before RTO's second release.  And blaming it on certification doesn't fly either.  Everyone is pointing at everyone else, all the while saying each group is independent of the other.  *rolls eyes*   I'm recalling too the information that made it into the Italian Gaming Magazine about delays.   It seems the CUSTOMER is the last to find out anything and we are STILL IN THE DARK about what to expect.  My point is DON'T EXPECT PREORDERS if this is the way you do business.

No serious bug. It was a "quality issue" according to Fernando Melo that they could have released it with but decided not to.

And yes, the cake is a lie.

Even if you are willing to settle for "Acceptable" Or "average" and not "Perfection" there is a case for Bioware not even living up to average in the case of RTO communications.

Exactly.  It could have been released then to PC users.  Lack of specific information makes one wonder, especially since the second delay came so close to release.   So expect unhappy customers.

Maybe Bioware pirated their own DLC to test it on the guinea pigs who actually go to download it...lol. Just a random thought.

My friend has just finished the DLC and he says he knows what the issue was, it is not a bug, just some dev messed up with the set, the gloves are different from the rest pf the set.... its not making it unplayable... And if they did found out about it in the last minute I can understand their decision to postpone it

Bioware could you please speak in english instead of using terms like "This Holiday Season" and "quality issue" man is it confusing. So is "we just want to release it together on all consoles" = "quality issues"? seems like some people are already assuming that. I was assuming it was a bug for some reason. Some people are assuming that they are holding it back to make RTO more awesome. Those people are sooooo going to be disappointed :P

Players like me wont even notice that it was a wrong model to be honest. They made it sound like they feel seriously embarassed if they released it as it is now. So we were all assuming it was something super major.

Like wiping out all save games.

Someone dropped the ball, wonder if he/she still has a job?

I'll wait patiently while BW does damage control.

On a side note, if the "glove" issue is real what has BW done to fix the Female Elf/  Blood Dragon Armor "see-through" issue?

Which is fair to feel that way but to then claim they are some horrible beast or no longer deserve whatever (trust love waffles hugs teddy bears) over a single incident? Really now? Isnt that silly.
You laska have been trolling thru any thread that even mentions DLC (doesnt even have to be about a real DLC just had to say DLC) is that a way to act to get answers or real meaningfull communications from BW?
In your case you only dug the hole deeper and made it less likely to get the type of response you wanted. Yes some of those comments did make me laugh but if you want to be talked to and treated like an adult then acting like a spoiled brat throwing a tantrum because he can not have a new toy is not the way to make that happen.

Glad to see your actualy on topic tho. PM? No need to answer I got slammed a month ago by 3 devs in a night to shut up and stop spamming about waffles so muchImage IPB

Some people should read this, and back up from the edge of the cliff... lol

Source IGN: http://pc.ign.com/ar.../1058656p3.html

"IGN: Origins has been supported by a large amount of DLC from launch. The most recent of which, Return to Ostagar, has been delayed until the end of January at the earliest. Is there any explanation as to why the delay occurred? Is it solely to release the DLC for all three platforms at the same time, or was there another issue?

Fernando Melo:No, it has nothing to do with platforms themselves. It's a quality issue where, literally, at the last minute, we spotted something that had made it through our own testing, EA's testing and was at Microsoft already. But it applies to all three platforms; it wasn't something specific to Microsoft, we just happened to catch it there first. We probably could have gone with it, but it's something that was serious enough that we felt it impacted the quality [of the DLC] and we made the choice to delay it to give our fans the best experience with it. That was the reason behind [the delay] -- we want to make sure that we don't cut any corners when we do the DLC. There's already a lot of content out, there's a lot more coming -- we just announced the expansion pack, and there's more coming after that. I think the worst thing we could do after that is do anything "to poison the well," to use the expression, or put fans off from feeling that they're getting the best content from us. It's a long term decision instead of a short term decision."
