I think the delay was simply to release RTO on all platforms simultaneously to get more money.

Go ahead and think that. I see no reason why bioware would lie, they said that they found something that they wanted to change or fix up so I'm going to believe them.

The truth is that there is a bug ( I think ) regarding Cailan's armor and weapons. I think they wanted them to work just as the Warden Commander set does ( aka it's stats are based on your curent ) but so far there are issues with that.

For example the Helm is Dragonbone but the boots are silverite, tier 7 and 5 respeticly. The sword is tier 6 and the shield is tier 5. So thats a big bug. Not that its not a good set, mind you, but Commander's Armor beats the King's Armor to the punch, let alone the shield which is VERY weak, Cousland Family shield is quite close to it in stats for example. let alone Eamon's Shield or Redcliff Elite shield ( lets not even talk of Duncan's or Loghain's Shield )

Still one whole month to fix it? Ye right.

That is just a made up Bug since I made Cailan's gold armor and shield with the toolset a couple weeks ago since I was tired of waiting for the DLC.  s274.photobucket.com/albums/jj271/darkshadow139/gold%20armor/

The thing I'm wondering now is...how is it going to be released at the same time for all platforms? Don't Sony and Microsoft update their stores on different days from each other? I could be wrong since I very rarely have bought any DLC on a console, but my understanding was one store updated on Tuesdays and the PSN one on Thursday.

I was refering STAT wise not look wise.

P.S. It looks exactly like in your pics, expect it also has a Golden Helm along with it. Also the Shield has a Crown right above the two lions.

Stat wise can be adjusted through toolset by adding armor factor to items to raise it to tier 7 stuff. The helm is just a recolorored juggernaut helm, out of the available helms the juggernaut ones looked the most regal, and most likely all Bioware will do since they like reusing already available textures for new armor. The shield is the heraldy of the king script that is directly from biowares toolset for what the shield should have on it  Maybe they added the crown for the DLC but that is what was available for the toolset. ;)

The pirated version of Return to Ostagar for PC is already released. No bugs have been found so far. I don't know how Bioware wants to explain this. Now almost every PC Gamer will play the pirated release because they don't want to wait almost 1 month for the official one. And than EA can whine about no one buying DLC...

This pisses me off because I am going to buy it which means that I will have to wait while some other people who pirates it can get it and play now.
How could it leaked when only Bioware has the code now? Or did one of their employees put it on the net? Or one of EA employees perhaps? Either way - it's not very pleasing.

@Mich-cz id rather wait a bit longer for the test period to be over and to get a "allmost" bugfree version.

I tried warning them of that as well. I even quoted Davis Gaider's last warning about it. But it seems people now in the electronic age don't know how to read or keep their emotions in check. I understand the anger about it but there is a time and a place for it. When you are repeatedly warned about talking about it that is a time to stop since now they are already well aware it has happened.

I'm sorry to say that this is not a game stopping bug, but rather a glitch. If there was indeed an issue with uneven tiers in Cailan's armor (not saying there is or isn't one), they could have patched it afterwards (there are many examples of glitches that still exist in the game and haven't been patched). Realistically speaking, it was more of a quality issue in the presentation of RtO (let's say graphics or some textures perhaps who knows) OR there was something wrong with a console version and they didn't want to release the version that they had ready for PC users only. As for the leak itself, I'm sure there are tons of people that are itching to discuss it and post stuff (which is against the rules), yet everyone has a browser and can access Google, it is ridiculously easy for someone to discover where the DLC files originated, discussing it here any further only puts the thread in jeopardy for obvious reasons.

While I'm not happy the DLC was delayed, am I the only one who remembers having to way 6-9 months or even longer for an expansion for your favorite game just to get new content?

Nope, I remember that too. The difference is that after that 6-9 months it wasn't delayed twice, it was released.

And they never said anything other than "hey it's out"

No "Hey we will be announcing announcements of future announcements" BS

Hey if you believe that they didn't know they weren't getting it out during the holiday season until after it was over and that they didn't know they weren't getting it out for January 5th until hours before it, more power to you. I envy your ability to just believe what you're told since it must make everything much simpler. My critical thinking skills on the other hand make it impossible for me to believe either of those things. Not ranting and raving about it, I just know a line of bovine fecal matter when I see it.

When someone claims something happened last minute. It is more likely that they were avoiding facing the problem and only told you last minute about the problem. As compared to the situation really cropping up last minute. I mean if you notice a "HUGE QUALITY ISSUE" last minute, then work on your spotting skills maybe. Or sack the incompetent QA team. All of them.

ME2 purchase canceled, seriously bioware just go and die somewhere, your days are over

Are you admitting to piracy? or are u just cancelling based on the rto being late.

If it's the latter then. See bioware. See?

Some of you folks have the patience of five year olds! What's the big deal? There's a problem, they have to fix it, and they hope it will be ready for the end of January. OMG, the sky is falling!

So by distancing yourself from us you make yourself seem more patient and less whiney?

Nope, the games I've played where I knew about an expansion 6-9 months ahead of time they announced it would be available in whatever month, and when that month came around it was released. But you are right that there weren't any announcement about future announcements.

People obviously don't know how to read thats why, and this is not the thread for this type of discussion anyway. Although I think Bioware should make an official thread for that topic and expain how that could happen and give a platform of discussion for it.

That would be out of character for Bio - lets pretend nothing bad happened - ware

for the record, none of this really has anything to do with BW. they had extra bug-hunting time after xmas to release it by the 5th. no, whatever it is has to do with EA and distribution agreements. i promise you, BW peeps love us and if it had anything to do with a mistake on their part, i have no doubt they'd be fessing up and apologizing. the silence is a result of it having nothing to do with them, a statement they aren't allowed to hint at, either.

Quoted for truth.  Ultimately it's still speculation, but I've watched both of these companies for quite a long time now.  More conspiracy surrounds EA than just about any company out there, as do constant disappointments in their products across the board.  I can't count how many times I've seen EA overstep their bounds causing mass-outrage among their gamers/customers (not to mention other game developers they've worked with), yet they always get away with it, never taking resposibility for anything  publicly because of how powerful they've become.

On the other hand, I've always seen Bioware as good people, and a reliable company.  The situation is pretty obvious if you ask me.  And if this is truly the case, I can't imagine how frustrating it is for Bioware that they're going to take the flack for this.  Not only that, but they're losing numbers in sales as we speak because it's already out there to pirate.  As much as I hope this isn't the case, it's the only outcome that makes any sense.

I am so glad i invested in activision blizzard over EA

No we just have mods personally responding and calling people out trying to undermine their opinions, yet again.

I think you misunderstand what a moderator is.

The moderators are community members that spent a lot of time in the Bioware community, discussing various topics.

Because we spent so long here, Bioware asked us if we could keep an eye on things when we stop by, help them keep things running smoothly and make sure everyone is having fun.

That is a secondary function, something that we do on the side while we visit these forums for our own enjoyment.

When is bioware making me a moderator then?

I can think of at least one reason for them to lie (not that it is the reason) and it's very compelling one.

EA said so.

After thinking about this further maybe the reviewed the DLC, and this is a real quality issue. Bioware got a lot of flack over the lack luster unfinished feel of the Warden's keep DLC, and I was one that flamed that DLC for being pathetic and feeling unfinished. Maybe that is what Bioware meant when they said they would get as many complaints if they released it as is. That would make since if they had the same group working on RTO that worked on Wardens keep.

In which case I will applaud their decision to postpone the DLC to give it a more finished polished feel. but on the other hand if this isn't the case and it is just a minor glitch, shame on you bioware you could have just patched it.;)

Possibly, but if that was the case why wouldn't they have done so before giving a release date?
