they are not required to tell you just because you demand to know. the fact that they chose to stop rto at the last minute should tell you it's pretty serious. this sense of entitlement people have is astounding.
Not more astounding than other people's disapproval of said sense of entitlement. Just a difference of opinion.

My wife is top of her class going to the Art Institute of Philadelphia, and is 2 years into her 4 year degree for Game Art and Design. She is basically doing what the people at Bioware are doing, and I know first hand from watching her that one little mistake that you didn't even know was a mistake can do massive damage to your program, and it take a long time to fix everything. And it is frustrating as hell. As players, we can be angry about not getting out DLC on time yet again, but at this point we need to just back off a bit and give the devs some breathing room. They are doing what they can for us.
I do feel bad for those that pre-paid for the DLC. Perhaps Bioware will allow a refund to those who want one, giving good faith that once it is finally out the people will come back and get it. Most people probably won't want a $5.00 refund, but when you are expecting to play something and now are unable to for a good amount of time, the refund could go to adding content to another game they have so no one feels they got the short end of the stick. Just an idea to the devs at Bioware.
Other than that, let's just all chill out. They devs have given us what we asked for to the best of their ability, we need to give them the space they need to get things back on track. There is no use in flogging a dead horse.

I think that's an excellent idea. I prepaid as well, but I'm just going to sit on the points until RtO is released. But I do agree that anyone that wants a refund should be able to get it.
Laksa: stop with the giant nested quotes. Last warning.

I've seen other people state something similar, and I have to say I find it odd.
Speaking solely for myself, this is the first Bioware game I've ever played and this whole RtO fiasco is giving an absolutely horrid first impression. DAO is awesome, but it seems releasing this single 1-hour (allegedly) DLC is just disaster piled upon disaster. It's been nothing but bad news since they announced it when there's any news at all, and mostly there's just no news.
This is all I personally know of the company: they made a great game, decent DLC's at launch, can't answer questions in threads they start for us to ask questions even if it's just a simple "I can't answer that because it's too spoilerific" or "I don't know the answer to that", and that a 1-hour DLC is beyond their abilities to finish and release given the two delays and muliple "issues" (which could mean anything). Overall, it leaves a very sour taste in my mouth and a very poor impression of the company. The game itself is great, if extremely buggy, but everything else honestly is just not what I would expect from a professional business.
Yes, they told us RtO would be delayed yet again. But then waited till the next day to say there was an "issue". What "issue" exactly is it? Game-breaking bug that was somehow missed until the day before release? Server melt-down? Someone accidently wipe the whole program? An "issue" can be many things, and a little bit of specificity would go a long way to fix the awful first impression they're making with me and I'm sure many others. Though I'm sure they have a strong enough fan base that they really don't care if they make a bad impression on first time customers, it won't do much to increase their fan base if things continue the way they've been going.
Some people don't care why it's delayed, and that's their prerogative. I do. If it's a bug or a server melt-down, it can be fixed presumably. If someone wiped the whole thing accidentally, it can't. Wanting the reason for the delay basically boils down to can you fix it or not, and if you can fix it is it an easy fix or something that's going to take months to straighten out. Not an unreasonable question by any stretch of the imagination.
My .02 for what it's worth.

Just ask for a refund, don't buy it, or wait til it's done and then decide. And for the love of Ferelden calm down, the exact reason you are mad (it's just a little DLC) is the exact reason you shouldn't BE mad about delays. Just a minor addition to the game right? Take it easy folks.

Predicting a delay in an ambitious expansion in terms of scope is not at all childish. I am a realist. I hope for the best and expect the worst.

Yep I agree everyone needs to stay on topic. I myself am tired of having good discussion threads about this topic closed because of this issue. If you don't have anything new and good to contribute to the topic at this time just read it and Iam.
