I can't help but think that the easy ops are because they are pushing so hard to get new people interested in MP. They want a way for people with low N7 levels that are just stepping into the game to get hooked, and giving them challenge points & banners is a good way to do so. They don't want to worry about challenging the people who haven't stopped playing since they popped into MP last March because those people are already here, staying here, & are working on their individual achievements. Also the ops are 'weekend warrior' challenges. Again not designed for the everyday MP boss tier types, but for those who hop on over the weekend & want to get themselves some challenge points so they don't have a big ol Zed for challenge points.
Bioware can we have some more challenging weekend operations?

I like upgrading my N7 weapons. If you want hard challenges, there are quite a few in the "Challenges" section, look there.
I like upgrading too. While i hate pokemons i do have the "gotta catch them all" mentality.
Maybe we could have 2 or 3 degrees of challenge/weekend with a pack for each? We'd certainly collect faster even if the other challenge(s) is/are harder!

This is the 24th challenge; we need 50 to max the N7 weapons. And that's only if you do all of them.

**** that. The challenges should be accessible. I just also think they should scale to difficulty somehow, so they're doable anywhere, but they're faster on platinum vs. bronze.
Seriously, though, you can MAKE them challenging. I did this one twice; first one was a level 14 Krogan Soldier, so not hard. Second was as a level 0 Batarian (no points in anything). I set it to U/U and got Geth/Condor, somehow managed 5 waves survived (purely coincidental).
What's the difference between Bioware artificially inflating the difficulty vs. you artificially inflating the difficulty?

Which is indeed the point. I started playing mid-august, but i had the online feedback deactivated and didn't know it was related to challenges until mid-september. It disappoints me that i won't get at least a near complete promo manifest in a year, if i don't miss any weekend challenge, something that is rather improbable .
Right now i have 104/120 URs (i'll probably be done by january) and 12/50 promo (next september, at best).
Wii U players get the promo weapons as standard UR, probably because they wouldn't be able to get them at a decent level otherwise. Yet there's nothing for late MP players or new ME trilogy buyers trying MP, which is why a few occasions to get some more wouldn't hurt.

Very, very bad idea. RNG system is punishing enough to detract almost any casual player.

I'm just waiting for the "play on any map, on any difficulty, ...extraction not required" weekend challenge, lol. They don't have to be crazy hard, but I feel like they are getting way too easy.

I prefer the weekend ops to be kept reasonably accessible for the casual player. I quite often have to work at weekends, and don't have several hours to complete a challenging operation. That's what the challenge system is for.
