Okay, this has been bugging me for a while, but I didn't feel the urge to drone about it until now. (Side note, this is like my 9th playthrough at this point)

The world maps in Mass Effect 1 are awful. Horrible. Lackluster. Any combination of words meaning 'Outright Crap'.

People blamed the demise of the Mako on the vehicle itself. This is foolish. The fault does not lie with the coders of the vehicle. They delivered a light, if slightly boring, recon platform that could stand up in a fight.

The fault lies with the world designers.

Seriously. What were you basing the world designs off of? Inputting into Terragen what it looked like when you sneezed on a screen? How many mountains have you seen that have abrupt 90-foot drops going UP the slope? How many planets have you seen where the terrain looks about like the static on a TV-Screen?

I'll give you a hint. NASA hasn't found many. Neither has the ESA, or any Space Exploration association.

What the crap?

Also, if these aren't indicative of the actual planet, then why in the name of the great Admiral Kahoku did Joker see fit to plant us on the section of planet that would make a Sonar scan have a fit?

Seriously. It looks like your World Designers faffed around on Terragen for about five minutes, called it good, and sent it to QA before nipping off to get plastered.
