This is one of the best explanations I ever heard for what science is: science is a culture's way of explaining the world and the phenomena it contains.

Western science is about the scientific method - observe, record, replicate, test - and it's what is most commonly recognized as science in the modern world. But our science is not every culture's science; what we call myth was in many cases the science of a culture. Our science disagrees with theirs, but that doesn't make it not science.

So we may not even recognize scientific study of magic, in the DA world, as 'science' - they may well not do things the was we do. Doesn't mean they aren't doing it, and coming up with reasons. And let's face it, in a world with magic, what we call 'myth' can very well be accurate science.

This would be a good twist. This would make the civil war more important because of the chance for war between tevinter and the other nations. orlais would be so pissed if they discovers that tevinter had a role in the Mage uprising.

What about the Qunari? they also have a stake in Thedas the Qunari also tried to invade Kirkwall in DA2 plus that Talis character has that list from the mark of the assassin DLC.

That being said Tevinter does need to make an appearance in Thedas.

Actually while I do suspect Tevinter is giving some aid to the Resolutionists, I suspect that Tevinter will actually (covertly) back the breakaway/rebell Templars not the Mages. While I'm sure that the breakup of the rival Andrastian Chantry has Tevinter crying (or not....full sacasm mode), I think it's a mistake to thing that what's good for Tevinter is good for mages or vice versa.

Rather, I think the Magisters of the Senate have a very cold eye for their own interests, and their own interest emphatically *do* *not* include other nations (like Fereldan...the most likely candidate) nuturing and encouraging non-Magister mages to flourish and grow into their full power. The last thing Tevinter wants are other nations that can rival it's magical forces.

OTOH, the rebel Templars know that Tevinter is a 'lost cause' and Tevinter could supply needed supplies (like Lyrium) as long as the rebel Templars leave Tevinter alone. Even better such a thing would be almost totally deniable, but still help spread chaos in Andrastian lands for very little investment on the part of Tevinter.

It's likely a couple of Magisters who opened up the Veil in the trailer.

Also one of the rings on the Inquisitor's fingers could be the Ring of the Ferryman.

I don't see why Tevinter would want that - in fact, I can't imagine anyone on any side who would want Thedas to be at the mercy of the denizens of the Fade.

A Tevinter protagonist could prove interesting.

That is certainly an interesting bit of trivia...

Inquisitor is actually the Archon, semi-confirmed rumor.

I would love it if the manipulation were from humans rather than some devious spirit or dead god.

It's been too long since Bioware has created a magnificent bastard.

You serious? Where is this semi-confirmation?

It would be so awesome though.

I have no problems with spirits and gods unless they are stupid.

StarBrat/Levianthans fail at common sense.

They tried it in ME2 and 3. It didn't work.
