What's up with the mid-wave respawns? (Video included)

The spawns changed with the last patch/DLC, but they changed again since then, to the point where they're doing what's displayed in the video. It always used to be the player's proximity to a spawn, which is why people camped FBW. If everyone was in the camping room the enemy wouldn't spawn at the nearest spawn point; which was out the back door, and no one in the room had line of sight through the back wall.
I don't think the new system, (whatever it is,) is based on line of sight either, because on large maps like Giant; during a solo I've seen enemies respawn at the base of the upper control room's ladder. You kill enemies in that spawn from soft cover near the LZ and you watch the enemies you just killed by the ladder reappear out of thin air. Perfect line of sight with no obstructions.

I believe that the entire no spawn in old FBW was because of a no spawn radius around a player. Might be wrong but it fits into why i used to be able to sit on anywhere on a spawn spot and not have anything spawn behind me but they do now.
For the spawning mechanic, there has always been a distance limit. You might remember that months and months back, you could see stuff spawning on Dagger if you were down the ramp from the LZ. They would pop up regardless of LOS (and they still do that now). I do not know how much is the distance limit though but i suspect it was put in to reduce the processing required
