Hey fellow Mass Effect lovers.  I'm a huge fan of the games to the point where I've been writing/roleplaying with Mass Effect concepts for over a year now, as well as my roleplay experience elsewhere for over a decade now--and I've finally taken the jump to creating a post ME3 forum for roleplay.  We are a great, drama free community that has an amazing foundation and are eager to have new writers of all sorts to come join in with us.

Mass Effect Sol

A brief outline of our backstory:

By the year 2237 the Galactic Reaper War is years past, but its scars are still visible galaxy-wide. Shepard was able to stop the Reapers, but in the process destroyed the Mass Relays and left the different systems severed from each other. The Sol System faces added strain with the addition of millions of displaced souls beyond its human citizens. The Citadel, mostly still intact but trapped as well in an orbit around the human home world, houses another thirteen million citizens as well as hundreds of thousands of refugees from Omega and Batarian Space. Stretching things even further, all the warriors that came to Earth to help defend it now scatter amongst Sol's planets, moons, and orbital stations trying to forge new lives for their ever blossoming numbers. With extensive terraforming and construction in place Sol, once a haven for humanity, is now a multi-species melting pot ready to boil over with tensions and challenges from every angle.

What side will you take in the reclaiming of Sol's settlements and resources? Will you stand on the side of those trying to coexist peacefully? Or will you demand your people are given the majority and rule over their lessors? Help to rebuild the Sol System. Take control of the races and canon of Mass Effect to determine who will rule over Sol and beyond.

Can't wait to see some of you there!

Blocking off parts of the forum to member-only is a counter-productive thing to do if you seek new members. While I'm no forum RPer and prefer a more freeform setting than a post-ME3 setting, people siitting on the fence about joining might want to see more without having to register. Like how/what characters are written, plot brainstorming, etc...

Well we're not in it to for quantity, but for quality. Not every site is for every person on the internet. There are options out there. We offer something specific, and-we like to hope-something special. A strong focus on writing & a sense of community.
Everything new members need to see to understand the site are fully available for them to read/see. Precious little is closed off. The areas blocked off simply contain private info like IM access to the members & such that they might not want the entire of the public to know. It's to respect the members of the community & their creative property.

But I appreciate your opinion on the matter. Good luck with your RP in it's form!

What's the canon about ending the Reapers (Blue, Green, Red) in your fiction or is it unimportant altogether?

We went with control. But simply because the other two options were so limiting. Destroy would have meant no availability to geth/synthetics. And synthesis would have been this weird undefined version of what the races really are. With control we can at least keep all the races around & keep them the way that everyone knows them.

Although we don't pay it much attention. I'd hate for people to get discouraged about joining because they aren't keen on the ending options, since I know there is a lot of those out there that disagree with any of the endings for their own reasons. We try to keep the ending far into the past and just stick to the elements that went across all the endings (IE the relays being destroyed).

Hope that clears it up :)

Yeah; if it means anything, our 'Control' ending just consists of Shephard-person commandeering the evil space squids and flying away into the sunset with them, ie. 'making them be gone.' This lets us get on with what is really important; the allied sentient races of the galaxy being trapped together and devolving into bloodthirsty xenophobic savages!

You know, if somebody wants to play that way, anyways. ^_^
