Putting aside the bile and contempt of people on these forums for the character (myself not included since I didn't mind her), I think you can romance her without effecting your LI just like could with Kelly Chambers in ME2.

Allers is a fling not a romance, she has no impact on existing romances whatsoever. However if you are already locked into a romance she won't flirt with you if I recall correctly.

She's Chobot fan service not much more, not really missing anything if you don't flirt with her.

Why the hell would you go after that... monster?

In RL she is very attractive, granted in game they did very poor job on character face model. Even so, you don't look at the mantelpiece when your poking the fire. Ashley my LI from ME1 and was faithful to through ME2 kept accusing me of being untrustworthy so...my Shepard merely chose to live up to her expectations. Also I don't see how you would apply the monster term about the character unless talking about only your vanity since the 'character' did not work for or with IGN who was only a reporter in the game univierse to my Shepard as opposed to the 'RL person' who did and Shepard does not know.

I will grant you that I thought they did poor job on facial model for her but the wasted resources is not something that applies to Shepard the character within the story.

she's definitely "do-able" in real life....just as long as she doesn't talk lol

But in the game I'm always waiting for her to go: "Woof!" Lol Allers looks like a bulldog. That isn't to say she's not an alright character, but I just feel she's completely out of place in the game. If anything, she should've been waiting at the Normandy dock on the Citadel, hoping to get an interview a couple times throughout the game. She absolutely should not have taken up space on the Normandy(I know she's optional). I just think Bioware should've put their time and effort into a fulltime squadmate instead of a reporter that is introduced in the final game of the trilogy

But in-game I definitely would have preferred Bioware to keep Emily Wong alive instead of Allers, which is why everytime I get the War Assets from her I kick her off the ship
