Snarky Hawke is half the reason I like Dragon Age 2... I will be very very very disappointed if it wont be an option in DA3

Snark was my main persona as well XD 90% of the Hawkes I played are Snarky
Diplomatic was too goodie two-shoes and boring for me. Aggro was fun but I didn't like being cruel to my companions

Snarky? More like douche most of the time. Writing needs to be massively improved.

How can anyone not enjoy this from snarky Hawke?

Also, the snarky option better be there in DA3, or else there will be rage!

I think Yahtzee put it best when he talked about the snarky option.

"Makes me want to cave in Hawke's smug ****ing face, with a book of after dinner speeches"

I know I used punctuation, I'm ashamed.

NO! The PC should only have three different flavors of dour and serous dialogue. Because RPGs are serious games and should be taken seriously.

I think some of the posters here actually want to have fun playing Dragon Age. Mouth breathers.

I liked having the different dialogue options. I have played Hawke as good/diplomatic which was fine.
I am now playing him as 75% sarcastic/humoured (as you need some diplomacy/sympathy in some situations). I do prefer my second Hawke, some of the things said are very amusing as well as seeing him crack a smile.

Dragon age 2. Age of the Snarky bastard.
I absolutely loved the snarky Hawke and almost refuse to play him/her any other way.

I really hope DA3 will be the return of Snark!

Oh wow.  I had no idea that existed; I'll definitely want to trigger that when I get there (almost finishing a char through Act I).  It seems that snarky!Hawke brings more... interaction/interconnection with other characters and situations and is more focused on others, rather than on what s/he wants/thinks.

Although snark could be funny, it tended to be a lot of lame remarks as well. The purple option was supposed to be sarcastic, I believe, but often it was more Hawke being... weird. Personally I prefer a bit more dry humor, or truly sarcastic (I don't see how "I want to be a dragon!" is really sarcastic).

I cringed at the "boneless women" remark, because I had no way to influence what Hawke was going to say there, even you have so far avoided the snark option in more serious situations.

The purple option also was a "charming" voice at times (the gem icon instead of the mask), and I liked being able to use those tones with people. So I saw the purple as more "witty", both in endearing and not so endearing ways.

I really disliked the middle dialogue options in DA2. You just never knew if your character was going to say something clever or just make a really really bad joke. I probably picked the "snarky" options in Origins more, since you already knew what the line was and weren't playing a game of bad-joke-roulette.

This!^

I've nothing against snarky lines, but I thought they were badly done in DA:2.

The problem I had with the snark option was that all too often the lines came out really lame. Someone on the DA team needs to refrence the Tyrion and Jamie chapters of asoiaf to better learn how to do clever wise cracks that flow with the rest of the dialouge.

Well, I think Tyrion and Jaime would come out with some clunkers if they were cracking jokes with the frequency a purely snarky Hawke does.

I found that for a (nearly) purely snarky Hawke, their inability to not come out with a silly joke, even at obviously inappropriate times, ended up being sort of endearing.

Snark was in DAO, I'll be very surprised if it doesn't return for the sequel. =)

Both games have been very well written and good laughs to play, but DA2 just has the being voiced bonus makes the lines work much better between characters :)

Isabela: quick get his armour off

Hawke:  really Isabela!!! :o

Isabela: I dont mean that, stun him, paralyse him  :D

I will be disapointed if I can't play sarcastic inquisitor.

How many Inquisitors does it take to screw in a lightbulb?

Three: One to screw in the lightbulbs, one to outlaw lightbulbs and one to deny the existence of lightbulbs.:o
