How could they import saves if ME4 is going to be next gen? Would it be like the choices of spacer, colonist, or earthborn?

It's not an issue on PC. In theory, PS+ and XBL Gold offer could saving, and technically you can transfer your saves from PS3/360 to USB and then to PS4/720. But it would be a hassle for a lot of console owners, so I doubt they will actually do it. Like I said, handful of major choices can be established in game. Just like Miranda asked us as the beginning of ME2 who did we pick as the Counrilour, or how Atton in KOTOR 2 asks us whether Revan was good/evil or was he a man or a woman.

. It will probably be a Mass Effect: Genesis type deal

Mass Effect 3 has yet to be concluded in my opinion, I'm pretty sure Bio-ware still has something up their sleeves. There's just to many hints and clues that say otherwise...

I love my sheps but no I hope they start a new and fresh story that has nothing to do with the previous trilogy. A new story set in the ME universe will suffice.

I will just say be real. Bioware couldn't pull of choice in this trilogy. Don't expect Bioware to honor all the choices in ME4. Expect alot of recons, cutting and marginalizing.

I don't expect BioWare to honor any choices in ME4. Or any other possible sequels for that matter.

as long as they stop making rookie errors and retcons.

i could be open to a new story inside the mass effect universe .. but not if the current mass effect trilogy stands as it is. it is not save to play bioware avatars these days.

If they go no import, it'll be easier for me to disassociate it from the other games. : V

If ME4 isn't going to be an actual continuation and finishing of threads from ME3, just totally new people. Own game on its own merits. Don't do both in a half-assed way that feels unfulfilled.

With next gen consoles they should probably start fresh.

By the end of ME3 there are literally millions of permutations on the state of the galaxy so there is no way they could account for them in a meaningful way in ME4 without blurring together all the choices.

Yes. Excellent Ideas. If you notice, after the End-Game, Shepard is put back before Cerberus HQ Missions, triggering him to be unable to export as the game was not completed

if we take this into account, shepard is not even dead, if imported into the next game. they can do whatever they want with this savegame.

Actually the game creates a import save after you finish playing (there was some thread about this here some months ago)

Can't we just have a nice game that's extrememly character focused (The problem our character needs to face is not about a galaxy, but maybe they had some debts to the wrong people?) so that when I make a choice, that choice can play out and it won't be marginalized? No more of this saving the galaxy tom-foolery, it ended badly the last time you tried it BW.

I'm pretty sure the endings have an import save flag.

we could try to read out the ng+ savegame. this is the last savegame before you are back on the normandy after finishing the game.

I don't see how you can take anything as truth this early.. especially from that talking head.

Shep being in ME4 is still a very strong possibility. Shep sells.

No surprise to me. People write it off as impossible without having a clue in the slightest as to what is going on inside the Devs heads.

Mass Effect is the only game that carries over choices. If anything, I'd be completely surprised if they didn't consider carrying over the biggest choice in the entire series.

It would be better for ME4 to be its own game, detached from all previous choices. That way, the old fans like me who quit the series after ME3's ending won't care, and the new fans won't feel like they're missing out. Everybody wins. Either way, I'm not buying ME4. *shrug* Holding the wallet.

So they should detach it from the trilogy so you can feel good about quitting it? This is getting hysterical Posted Image

Noooo, please no saves. Please not a game where they have to make a ending choice in ME3 canon! That's not gonna end well! >.<

If they can somehow pull of a scenario where any of them might've happened so it's still moving on without making one canon that'll be OK. I suppose the green glow could fade from Synthesis, the Reapers are just skulking off somewhere else in Control and the geth get rebuilt in Destroy. It's rather glossing over but that's probably necessary in order to move on. Trying to do more will just dig the hole deeper.

Perhaps I should actually go and look at the interview though - is it suggesting it might be happening or simply not giving any information away at all?

Well, little bit hard to do if ME4 gets released on a new console. Also, if you still think you can believe a word they say about anything, good luck to you.

And for anyone that says, "no, don't do that" well consider this, maybe this time they are going for "beginning haters".

Sounds like a summer blockbuster to me.
