THIS ONLY MY POINT OF VIEW. NOTHING IS WRITTEN IN STONE.

Lets start with those who favor team games.

Think of it like a group of kittens snuggling together feeling the warmth of each other. They cant see themeselves doing anything without the comfort and the security that the group brings. Stepping out can be very fearful. people like that see fun as laughing and joking around with others. Im i against that? Not at all. There confidence level is predicated on how strong and cohesive the team is and not on personal skill. They are mostly outgoing and funny people with a magnetic personality that everybody loves. They love bonding with each other. Im I against that? No I dont mind a good laugh at times. Soloing makes no sense to them because it doesnt relate with they're personality therefor see it as a waste of time and pointless. They are too dependant on team cohesion to win and even to feel better about themeselves as individuals. Im I speaking for every team player? Ofcourse not.

Now for the soloers

Soloers including myself are often times misunderstood and even shunned by some team based people. We have as people would say "f**ked up sense of humor". I  We like to venture out and test our abilities to the max. We find soloing fun because well for me Im a soloist at heart. Did mostly everything in life on my own without much support. I personally find team based boring because it's un challenging as other soloers can agree.
I could even go personal and say that soloers  have experienced many rejections in life by people and gained strenght from that and learned  to do 4 oneself. Im I speaking for every soloer? No but some can agree with me. I find team games a burden even if im playing with good players. Thats why I solo.

I hope what I wrote made sense to you.

We can appear to be at times antisocial but thats not the case.

I see that many team based people are venturing out to solo.

IT CANNOT BE DISPUTED. SOLOING IS THE BEST SHARPENER. THERE IS STRENGHT IN NUMBERS BUT GREAT POWER BELONGS TO THE SOLOERS. MANY TEAM BASED PEOPLE SEE THAT AND DESIRE A PIECE OF THAT POWER.........-_-

soloing is fun for the challenge it presents.

but I do find it very fun to have a 4 man wrecking freight train of destruction that moves as one, fights as one, and KICKS ARSE on platinum.

love them both.

Not even going to bother reading; co-op means cooperative, cooperative means a team effort.

I am bit confused though. Why do you play co-op MP if you find playing with team boring....?

Solo for the challenge, sure, but this is a co-op so learn to work as a team. Also, solo for 90 minutes vs. a good team under 20 minutes on platinum? I'll take the latter.

I dont as much anymore. I mostly solo due to the challenge aspect. I still play with teams but would rather solo

Soloing has greatly enhanced my team game because I can easily carry a weak team if the situation demands it.

Soloing is not the real challenge, my friend.

You know the spawns, you know yourself, you know your limitations and likely placement of enemies at any time... in a solo match all of these are true.

In a PUG match, throw everything (except knowing your own limitations (and they will be pushed by lag and latency)) out the window, because good PUGgers do make it easy mode, average ones make the challenge similar to a solo or slightly easier, and bad PUGs make even Silver a difficult challenge at times.

I know you can solo the wave after they bleed out... but there is a fun in fighting near them, either to help ones that have promise or are working at it, or to laugh at the fools.

My 2c.

there is a certain joy in pulling a team that tries, but you know will fail without you, to glory from the jaws of defeat.

Dont get me wrong Im a great team player. I can synergize with the best of them. I always revive fallen teamates etc...
I woulnt solo 4 90 minutes. It doesnt mean that I dont enjoy playing with a team as there can certainly be room for that. But I am a soloist at heart and will always prefer this type of gameplay even if it takes longer to accomplish the mission..:)

This. I am very much capable of soloing, I like to play with a group because it allows me to mess around and have fun. Soloing does not.

I only play difficulties I know I can solo because the average PuG is so bad. Sorry to say, but it's the truth.

If you queue for gold / silver and require teamwork to complete it you're going to have a bad time.

All my favorite moments in this game came during team play. When you really appreciate a teammate helping you out, or you save the freaking day. Team play always greater than solo IMHO.

Also, your first post says that people are either team players or soloists at heart. Then in a reply, you say - no, I'm a team player and a solo player both. Seems like you posted this to stroke your own e-peen.

Yeh it's fun to solo, and I do it when no one I know is online. If I know I might have to leave for RL, I'll solo so I don't muck up a game for other people by exiting in the middle of a wave. But soloing can get really tedious and boring. When I hit wave 7, I know I have three waves of no objective other than to take out the enemy. It's a grind tbh, and sometimes I just exit the game cuz I'm not having much fun. Wave 10 can't come fast enough.

After doing enough of these, it's a welcome relief to join friends or randoms and get to talk to someone and see other players use different kits. I don't *need* to be with a team to play. But it's usually more fun unless I'm testing a character or weapons, or just bored and don't want to have any responsibility to a team, etc. My funnest moments have been with teams, though, and even if I'm not in a social mood, there's usually some player who can make me laugh, and that happens on a team.

Soloing in this game can be way too similar to soloing something in RL for which I'd get banned for even saying lol, so I won't.

I like your logic.

The best response i can think of is quoting Christopher Hitchens: "That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence."

What you describe as a master race of solo runners is merely a segment of the player base whom lack the appropriate social skills and the ability to handle the human factor of a game. Programs run scripted courses and running solo you will know exactly how it behaves. Adding a human team behaving unpredictably adds an X-factor which will destabilize that, making the course of the game less predictable and ultimately harder.

I speak of cause not of those who run with 3 friends, taking on Glacier/Cerb/Plat in 15min, but instead of those who venture into PUG-territory, joining a random game of deaf-mute muppets being hosted from a jungle somewhere on Borneo.

That
is the true master race.

..I'm an oddity, Though I seek teamwork, I normally have to be alone, I seek team work but forces of "ignorance and rejection" force my hand to solo some days the highest though I can pierce into soloing is bronze atm without equipment but I can make it close on silver and that's about it without "equipment" it's a predicament to deal with continually.

I find soloing not a waste of time just a burn out of my energy.

I think this might have set a new record for the largest number of sweeping generalisations in the one post.

Nice to know I have an outgoing personality that everyone loves though.

Also the conclusions you've drawn from whether you prefer soloing or playing with teams, reminds me of horoscopes.

But you forgot to mention that Soloists may soon find themselves experiencing a great windfall, and that team players should beware of snakes in long grass.

Soloists do have a sorta edge, if they can also co-op just equally, they can alone do stuff without a hand, but if they are anti team, they might as well just stick to their soloing and keep out....

THis game IDK why the heck it even has "solo" challenges...but thats me I find the fact a mark for Solo plat. alone was kinda....wtf

It's good if everyone on your team can solo gold: the skills are handy if needing to clutch a wave.

But it's a coop game, and should not be required.
Also when you get a single person off solo-ramboing, it can make the spawns screwy and less predictable for others. The solo guy is have fun, the others are panicking and getting flanked and what not.
I've used my teammates as decoys, but I'm not proud, and I kinda feel like I'm spoiling their fun. Which is my main reservation of PUG vanguards/shadows/havoc/etc.

To;dr solo skills good, but play coop-style in a team.
