I mean no offense, OP, but something is wrong here.

This is a good quote and it kind of represents one of the most common arguments here: it's co-op, so you need to play with others.

Except it's not that simple. You have both Single and Multiplayer but these differ vastly from each other. To the point where you can no longer say that when someone wants to play by himself, he needs to go for SP.

I like to play alone (6 times Solo Mastery completed). If I wanted to play game mode designed for one player, I would be, by this logic, required to play Shepard and go through story mode.

And I want to play a Krogan. Alone.

So yeah, it says Multiplayer in the main menu. But it's just a word and behind this word there are vast possibilities for both team play and single player play (which classical single player cannot provide).

Well, i'm one of those who really loves soloing, i've been doing it since demo, when it was a challenge.

But now there isn't any challenge on soloing, because as i've been saying, no matter what character ( even if it is lvl 1 ) and weapoin i take against any enemy on any map i will do it, so there isn't challenge on soloing anymore, because with time, i can do it.

That's one of the reasons why my soloing has decreased too much these days, and that's why i prefeer play with a team, have fun, not care about score and some times don't even check it in the screen at the end.

What I want to say is, part of the thing that soloing is not so interesting anymore is the fact that almost everybody can do it if they invest enough time, that's why i only do challenges with time, you know, solo speedruns, they are a real challenge because not everybody can do that, that's why I love them now

I agree with what you mentioned about business as I myself am in mentorship under successful Network Marketers who teach foundations of team work and how it relates to success BUT I wasn't reffering to my business life as you just found out I have:innocent:. Soloing in business is doable but painfully long and not wise by any standard. I wasn't reffering to that at all so I'm debating whether I should label what you said N/A....

Now for ME3, I dont dislike team synergy and DO appreciate it so I apologize if I come across as if I didn't. I would just rather play alone most of the time as that is how I have fun. Team synergy gets old for me and many others. Why do you think many who bragged about team synergy is venturing off to gold/platinum solos? THERE IS A REASON FOR THAT!! Even well kown speed runners venture to solos. Even pc players who hated me when I first arrived on the forums are now venturing to solos and asking me for tips. THERE IS A REASON!!

For instance, I don't give a **** about soloers, I admire the patience and the skill, but from that to claim you're the master race and you're better than team players there's a big difference.

He didn't say soloing is bad, but the OP did say team players are second rate players. You want to play solo, go ahead. But it is totally possible for a team player to beat the crap out of you.

The solo 'personality type' may produce some extremely competent individuals, but overall it produces more liabilities; because the mindset doesn't guarantee the skills to pull it off.

@ OP, I think you're mostly wrong. I do not think that people that do or do not enjoy solos are two distinct groups personality wise. I have seen on BSN that there does tend to be a decent presence of obsessive behavior regarding solos.

Just so you know, I don't have anything at all against anyone that prefers, enjoys or excels at solos, I think people should enjoy the game as they want (unless they are cheating in a public lobby I do not care whatsoever).

From your post it almost seems like some of the features in personality you describe are Introvert vs Extrovert. I've had plenty of my XBL friends join parties with me while they solo so they can hang out while doing it. Also I have plenty of friends on my XBL FL that are introverts as am I, that prefer playing as a team vs solo.

I think the perception around BSN is that if you can solo (especially at higher level of difficulty) you're a better gamer overall. Just BETTER at gaming period. Perhaps, perhaps, but as many have pointed out there is a certain synergy and awareness that needs to be developed to play well in the team oriented matches. (I'm aware that you say you can do either just as well and I'm positive you're great at that, unlike the rest of BSN I do not hold an unswerving belief that these two play styles are mutually exclusive).

I DO think there is something to be said about maybe the level of competitiveness in players that prefer to get Platinum solos done and tell everyone. (Again I'm not knocking that- its part of the gaming culture to do this).

In terms of skills there is no competition between Team Based and Solo Runs. You must be able to see that Cain, like literally there is no real way to compare. Granted odds are you will extract because unlike team players who know how to slaughter, you know how to survive. You use the entire map to your advantage, you get used to running a certain route and, well, doing everything you can to survive.

Team players train to smash a spawn into smithereens. They player hyper-aggressively and get good at killing, however some players like this also tend to be unable to clutch rounds because they aren't trained to survive. Alot of players (HeroicMass being the most recent to my recollection) have taken to attempting and completing Platinum Solos for the challenge, just to see if they can. I would do the same but, I don't have an hour to waste doing it and if I did I would spend it on something else. Teamplay is often more about commeraderie, I can play with 90% of Team AreleX members and quite a few Spectre members for hours on end without getting bored, no matter how under-whelming the game is in terms of challenge and fun itself.

Tl;dr - Teamplay and Soloing involve two different playstyles (Slaying and Surviving respectively).
Tl;dr2 - I'd rather play 3 or 4 games with Team AreleX then solo by myself. I don't like the lack of communication but I know I could solo.

One of the things that I've always felt really fun to do is setting up and detonating explosions with an ally against a boss enemy. You just get into this rhythm that not a second after you lay down the primer, your buddy is right behind you ready to make the enemy go boom, and it just gets better if you lay down one explosion after another, working like a well-oiled machine to turn whatever you're throwing your powers at into confetti.

You can't do that playing solo.
