Well, you're welcome to have your opinion about this but IMO soloing is the most boring thing that can be done in this game.

What it takes to solo btw is mostly no different that what it takes to be good in a team play. Use a powerful enough build to eliminate ennemis easily and/or use the AI and the game spawn mechanics to your advantage to funnel ennemies through corridors so that they are both easier to kill and you can have an easier time to flee. 99,99% of plat solo videos take advantage of either one of these if not both.

Soloing plat or gold is indeed an achievement and does require some thought and tactics, but the only sensible difference is the insane amount of time that has to be spent in order to solo with all the time consuming funnelling tactics and potentiel retries in order to record a good run. That's the main reason why I don't like soloing and why I will never ever attempt to solo platinum.

Well apparently I'm a convivial, outgoing personality!

boy, if only that was actually true IRL.

Hm, maybe this set of prejudgements isn't very good. Also, and this is going to be nitpicking and I can't help it, but 'antisocial' relates to personalities that actively break or shun social laws. It more accurately describes the behavior of criminals, delinquents, and psychopaths than for shy or introverted people, or those that simply avoid contact for lack of need/want (which I'd hope is what you meant, otherwise I wouldn't want to know you :P ).

Anyways, soloing is incredibly inefficient, tedious, and a consumable drain for me, and lacks the 'lotto' feel of PuGs that makes me keep PuGing. That's pretty much all there is to it.

I play because I like to socialize and shoot things. Playing solo in an MP game is kinda... lonely. I have lots of SP games for playing solo. <gasp!>

If the game difficulty scaled based on how many players were in the match, would you feel the same? Not about plat extraction, but about the need to solo?

Soloing is not the real challenge, my friend.

You know the spawns, you know yourself, you know your limitations and likely placement of enemies at any time... in a solo match all of these are true.

In a PUG match, throw everything (except knowing your own limitations (and they will be pushed by lag and latency)) out the window, because good PUGgers do make it easy mode, average ones make the challenge similar to a solo or slightly easier, and bad PUGs make even Silver a difficult challenge at times.

I know you can solo the wave after they bleed out... but there is a fun in fighting near them, either to help ones that have promise or are working at it, or to laugh at the fools.

My 2c.

this right here? this is why i scoff at "fox, final destination, no items" type people. True skill is not being able to perform perfectly in a vacuum environment set up to your specifictations. True to skill is being able to adapt to a changing environment and handle anything the game(or other players) can throw at you.

ok, that went slightly off topic from OPs point, but meh.
