...anyway, they'll still make heaps of money either way. If not from the core ME fanbase, then from new folks they continue to pull in from the first person shooter crowd, like they did with ME3.

"So you want a realistic down-to-earth show that's completely off the wall and swarming with magic robots?"
"yes, and also you should be able to win things by watching"

Nothing you can do about it other than accepting it. Staying in crybaby mode won't change anything.

Sorry OP, but this is already decided. And not recently, but a long time ago. The original Mass Effect Trilogy is Shepard's story, the story how he/she was at the forefront of solving the Reaper problem of the galaxy. Now it is on to another one's story in the universe.

I don't think you understand how game development works. If EA says that a Shepard game sells better, BioWare will develop a shepard game.
To generalize, if EA says X = $, then ME4 will include X.

thats the reason, we have a mp-mode in me3.
but even if they would bring shepard back, it would not before the 6th game ...

ME3 has more flaws than it has good qualities
From a technical prespective that is certainly not true. Mass Effect 3 was the highest rated game of 2012.

I don't know. It's likely that the next ME doesn't have Shepard. But if that game flops, and they still think ME universe has some value, the fifth game will have Shepard.
Sort of what Microsoft did with Halo: Reach and Halo 4.

its ea we are talking about ... they need at least 2 faceplants in a row, to recognise it.
the next me game will sell well .. even if the story gets worse .. that is the price bioware pays.
you either sell good quality games to a smaller audience, who treats you like gods or you sell more to the throwaway-folks, who do not even end the game.
double edged sword.

The real people who are going to decide whether or not Shepard makes it in ME4 are the developers. End of story. Why are we even arguing this?
Oh right. BSN. Until a bunch of you guys have actually worked in a AAA game studio, you won't even be able to empathize with the devs, let alone each other on these forums.

id say the opposite.
i dont see any reason why more people would buy ME4. id bet alot of people will hesitate in buying and most will rent first.

-Sequel
-New Characters
-New Plotline
-ME3 save files are kept for ME4 so the ending you chose is the ending that continues into the new game.

Finally someone who got clarity without any DLC.
Don't need DLC see to see when something is broken.
It's an odd dichotomy; in some instances, fans are perfectly correct when they point out that stories have lost their way or should have been allowed to continue.
In others, the creators were absolutely right to not listen to fans. Sometimes you wish they hadn't when they did *cough* Talimancers *cough*.
As fans, we only see the end-product. Because you can draw or write fanfiction or acted in a school play does not remotely make you an expert on drama, storytelling or art.
For the most part, fans should stay fans and not pretend to be critics. Opinions and informed opinions are two very seperate creatures. It's why mechanics, say, don't tend to care about the opinions of non-mechanics, or why the Captain of a ship doesn't usually care about passengers offering advice on how to steer the thing.
