(1) ME3 has less flaws than any game ever developed.

That has got to be the most idiotic statement I've ever heard on here. All 3 games have their flaws, but ME3 is by far the worst. Bioware certainly can't please everyone, but their attitudes make me think that following the ME3 backlash they simply couldn't give two ****'s about what we want or think.

I literally lol'd when i read Seival's post. This is why I love BSN XD

No it will not.

bioware said Shepard will not be in ME4.

Shepard will not be in ME4. End of story.

If the consumer demands Shepard in ME4, Shepard will be in ME4. But given that Mac is writing, I don't know if I'd even buy it because Mac absolutely detests Shepard from the way he triple bombed him/her at the end of ME3. Shepard would die horribly at the end of ME4, again.

The "consumer" demanded new endings to ME3.

Did they get them?

While that level of idiocy is quite funny, I was dumb founded when I read that statement.

I don't think it works like that.

They tend to review based on graphics, gameplay, etc. They also play once when they finish at all. Their concerns simply aren't the same as a hardcore fan's.

That's what they should be reviewing on. Things that are technical and measurable.

Who says that's what they 'should' be reviewing on? Oh yes, the games industry, their major source of revenue.

I guess that's what we get for expecting free criticism. The tune is called by the one who pays the piper.

Those are the factors that determine a game's technical value. What the fans want is very important but irrelevant when it comes to technical performance.

Aaaaaand as to Hudson being involved in the other games, I don't feel like he was REALLY actually involved in the sense of actually coding, writing dialogue, creating textures. He's just a director, pretty much tells people what to do. The games don't really feel like they have his stamp on it. If you asked me who Hudson was before ME3, I'd have gone "Who?"

Game Director/Main Producer is as involved and important as movie director.

Hrm. IMDB does list under directors' profiles what their trademarks are-- like, something that you immediately associate with a certain director.

Like, you know, with Joss Whedon-- everyone's going to die. (or a fan favorite dies... or the main character... )

Hudson just doesn't have an outstanding trademark for me. Not to say that his job isn't important, but ... it feels like games just don't have that "attention" with devs like movies does with directors. (Hell, I distinctly remember at a point devs actually weren't allowed to be credited or something and someone snuck their name in a game as an easter egg.)

Yeah, I'm probably just not great at paying attention. :( I still couldn't really tell you who's responsible for awesome games like Portal and Borderlands, just the publishers' names. This is something that I need to end ASAP.

Ah, the auteur theory of game making. Yeah, that one hasn't really worked since some time last century.

I don't know I'm not a movie critic.

those are some of the worst choices ever...

also imagine if bioware made a game based solely on what the fanbase "wants"

Agreed. Most fans have no clue what they are talking about or even really want. It's ok to take some clues from the fans, but to do 100% of what they want, would be a huge mistake.
