Dedication? More like that scary stalker chick that wears her wedding dress while looking out the window with her 11 cats in tow.

Stalker chick in a wedding dress? Now that sounds like a good idea for a very scary movie.

Hmm, I foresee a DAO video entitled "Kill Loghain" starring 'The (City Elf) Bride' with "Battle without honour or humanity" playing in the background.

Yes. I was so touched by the origin that my female city elf wore her wedding ring through the whole game.

Didn't wear the ring but kept it in pocket through the whole game. Kept the clothes too -- you never know when a fancy dress will come handy.

I prefer to think of myself as dedicated. Not totally deranged!

I kept them and other equipment of that nature and use the chest at Warden's Keep to store them. She also named her dog after that dude in honor of his sacrifice. On the other hand, I probably think it would have been hell for the city elf female rogue to actually have gotten married and stuck with Nelaros so secretly she probably prefers the way things turned out. haha

We need a scene where the Bride (wearing her dress) fights about 80 black-clad guys with samurai sword. Afterards she kills Vaughan.

Yeah my City Elf wore her ring the whole game.  But I ditched the dress.

It would be quite good if the dress became torn as the game went on (It did look a little too pristine while I was fighting the archdemon!) Then you could really look like the corpse bride :)

I save my tattered prison clothes for my dwarf noble, does that count?

Only if you look at it every other week and swear terrible oaths of vengeance, then yes.,

But...I killed the dude 1 hour into the game.  Who was I supposed to be swearing vengeance on?

Well if you really did off your elder brother, then you are swearing vengeance against those that caught you and exiled you maybe? Me, I was framed...

Felt odd about keeping the clothes so they got vendored, but the ring went on Leliana instead iirc.

Just a frivolous question: wondering if any players out there who play the city elf origin keep their wedding clothes and ring with them as a memento till the end like I do. I would not sell or dump them and would keep them in my inventory till I get the chest at  Warden's Keep.

I played as a female city elf and her betrothed was murdered for her sake, so the wedding ring that was found on him was kept as a remonder of his sacrifice.

Anyone else shares my sentiments?

Absolutely.  Even if she didn't want to get married, by the bitter end she recognized Nelaros' worth and that they would have had a good life together.  So sad.  This is IMO the best origin story (though I haven't done the dwarf ones yet).

I plan to do a playthrough where my city elf was extremely devoted to the idea of marrying and flips out afterwards and never takes the wedding dress off. I will slay that bloody dragon in the dress. (I think this will be muchly fun, the only thing that could make this better is if I could play a city elf apostate, because crazy ****es with magic are uber. ;) )

My city elf still has both her wedding clothes and ring out of rememberance of Nelaros' sacrifice for her. I was hoping wearing one or both back to the alienage would trigger some interesting dialogue.

Glad to see I'm not the only overly sentimental player who does this sort of thing.

My character wore the wedding ring until after the Landsmeet, when she finally gave it to Alistair as a gesture of goodwill after setting him up with Anora despite his protests. After browbeating and getting along badly with the poor schmuck all game, my character felt rather guilty since she considered him a good man at heart, if inept, and figured it was time to bring the Wardens together to confront the Blight. Besides, by this point she had Fang as a happier reminder of her family and people, and had found her true love with Leliana.

... the whole Attempted Reconciliation with Alistair After Largely Ruining the Incompetent but Nice Guy's Life Thing™ took a bit of a nosedive and made me feel even worse when BFF Morrigan played the Leliana card on me shortly thereafter. "Alistair, I know we're not friends, but I need you to trust me..."

Heirloom Amulet, Family Sword & Shield, Wedding Ring. All kept.

City Elf Rogue ended up giving Zevran the Wedding Ring as a promise. But she didn't take Morrigan's Offer, so she sacrificed herself.
