Well congratz to FC3, the voting was at least exciting and ME3 still won Reader GOTY from Escapist and GamesRadar

I doubt it will. Hopefully the next Mayan prediction (or other equally stup-totally legit and real apocalypse) is correct.

There's a 'People's choice' award going on currently, over at Gamespot, where games are matched against eachover, and the one with the most votes, progresses to the next round. Mass Effect 3 is currently up against Dishonored. If you believe that Mass Effect 3 was a better game than Dishonored, then why not vote?

hey maybe if you at least sent us a email letting us know we can go vote for this it would be fine but as it happends i just randomly logged into social bioware only to find out im 45 minutes late to the most important voting matter yet ME3 vs FC3 .. not good bioware , a simple email to your paying customers would get u tons of extra votes im sure many of us had no clue about this GOTY vote.

With a .3% difference in the voting, I'd pretty much call that a dead heat rather than a definative win.

Mass Effect 3 and Far Cry 3 are my games of the year. Mass Effect 3 multiplayer has given me much thou.

But Far Cry 3's gameplay is perfection. I love how it doesn't treat you like a dummy... (well outside story missions, heh) ...but as someone who are given tools and said: go do this.

I really like that. Because most of the time the more linear games have this one and only path of doing things. That's it.

Because of these things, they are both game of the year for me. Can't say which is better, honestly.

Then again it was a pretty awful year. But on a side note i must say this is a pretty odd way for Reader's to determine what is GOTY. Say if Far Cry 3 and Mass Effect 3 faced off in the first round. ME3 would never have made it this far. I'm not sure why they can't just create a poll and list of games to choose from.

I understand they're trying to create a fun way to do it, but still.

Far cry 3 does look good and it is a different kind gaming experience. It was a close vote and Mass Effect 3 did compete against some tough games. I can live with that

This. Farcry 3 is a great game and so is ME3 to a lot of people. Farcry 3 was in favor, and it won fair and square, to which I say good job to the developers of that game.

Both games at the end sucked. Far Cry 3 is only good for animals and a map editor.

ME3 is only good for complaining. What a sad ****ing year. At least Tekken Tag Tournament 2 won the Fighting GOTY.

I doubt that.  A few people in the comments section said they voted for Far Cry because Mass Effect beat their game.

Seriously, I don't like Far Cry 3 at all.


Considering how much hate there is for Mass Effect on these forums, she might've had a better chance if no one here knew about the contest.
