Behind that, I'd mention Wizardry 7 and Wizardry 8. Wizardry 7 is a better game, but I've never actually managed to finish it.

Wizardry...  That series beings back memories.  I still have Wizardry 8 in my collection though I haven't played it for yonks.  I remember having a Bard in my party with a Texan drawl and a Bishop with a Bronx accent who seemed to spend more time shooting one-liners at each other than providing midline support.  Great game - a shame that it was still unfinished when it was released.

In order:
Mask of the Betrayer
KotOR2
Planescape: Torment

I would have to rank Mask of the Betrayer (NWN2 expansion) as one of the best RPGs I've played.  Period.

Then maybe.... Oblivion, Morrowind.

On balance, I would probably say I liked Oblivion more than Morrowind, but that's only because I only finally managed to get into Morrowind on my sixth attempt - ever attempt before that ended in me either getting bored with my character, or having my rear end handed to me by enemies until I gave up.

Fallout 3's ending poisoned the entire game for me.
I refuse to call Diablo/D2 an RPG, nor any MMO"RPG".
I didn't even bother finishing Icewind Dale because it was so tedious.

Ultima didn't really do it for me except for the glorious Ultima Underworld 1 and 2.

Planescape: Torment and Fallout 2 would rate as my top two RPG's even including Bioware's games.

Other than those, Ultima's IV and VII will always have a place in my heart, though they are fairly shallow compared to modern RPG's, and so they are at the bottom of my personal Top 10.

But, in third place, Deus Ex stands proud. They got the mix just right when they made it.
