TL;DR: How would you feel about an Asari who claims to be the daughter of Shepard?

The only thing a reasonable person could do in that situation, blow her brains out.

Who can prove who the father is, even if she is Liara's daughter?

Which makes her paternity no more in doubt than 90%* of people on the planet?

Record-loss from the Reaper War, of course.

Why would she question her mother's word, particularly since Liara's relationship with Shepard is likely to be in the historical record?

Multiple reasons: Shepard's general relationship might be on record, but whether there was intimacy might not. Liara might not even be the mother, or might not be in a position to confirm or even prove the claim.  And, of course, disreprencies or gaps in the historical record.

And she would likely have talked to various people who were friends of both Shepard and Liara.

Not if she never had a real chance before they died of old age/other circumstances, or if she was raised in relative isolation (to protect her from the consequences of her name, she'd be told).

Heck, how many Asari did Shep date with? There's no rule saying that Shep didn't leave offspring with human (female) partners as well. So a Kid Shep was always in the background/lore, if the human condition has anything to do with the MEU. Odds are good that Shep Kid exists, even the catalyst projection 'hints' of it...and then comes the stargazer scene about everyone 'suspects'..lol

Who would the kid think her mother is, again?

I do not abide the existence of asari children. They shall all be cast upon the rocks, consecrating the earth with their blood and bone.

I would kick her in the face and then curb stomp the b*tch. I dumped Liara for Tali.

Asari are Mass Effect's version of the Flood, Necromorphs, Xenomorphs, or headcrabs to you?

ok.

No, but if a random Asari said I was their parent, that is what I would do.

I'm not saying that Asari aren't a plague on the galaxy, just chill. I'm trying to be moderate here.

Ambiguous/undecided. It could even be something that changes with the import: only Liara's child if there was a Liara romance, not mentioned if not, that sort of thing.

Otherwise, it could be the sort of 'sheltered by guardians, who weren't her parents, who told her her past' sort of thing... but with some plausible piece/trinket/reason that would support such a claim. Shepard's dog-tags, maybe?

Liara doesn't say that I am her father.

Though the concept has some interesting points, I would be seriously peeved at the idea....I'm an RP demon, when I RP a character I RP them to the hilt...as much as the game allows anyway....<_<....My Shep is tolerant of Asari at best, at worst he is a straight out bigot regarding the Asari. Blue with tentacles does nothing for him and thus he has never 'experienced' an Asari...aside from Liara's one mind meld after Virmire (he didn't pick her up until then) ....and he refused the gift.

Interesting concept but 'No'.

No, no, no. It's a terrible idea and the OP should be banned for even suggesting it.

Only if it´s possible to import saves from ME3 where Shepard had romanced Liara.

Otherwise I don´t like the idea.

She could claim it all she likes. Claims arnt worth crap if you dont have evidence to back it up.

My Shepard is gay. I would very much hate an asari claiming to be his biological daughter. If he did have kids, they were adopted, and not asari. Their life cycles are too long. He'd likely die before she reached adulthood.

It's theft.
Which is still going to be punished by death.

Seing as she would have done that by violating Shepard's mind without his consent, yes, yes it is rape.

This is my first reaction to the idea:

Image IPB

Note that this is a purely emotional, knee-jerk reaction. In-world, I see it could be plausible, but I hate the idea as a story hook. You did ask how people *feel* about it.

(some time later):
The reason why I hate it is this plot is built on the human intuition that whose child you are is somehow intrinsically important, that being the child of someone special makes you special, too. The appropriate reaction to such a revelation should be "so what?"
