Looks nice. I wish I was skilled enough to create such things from scratch.

From the URL link I'd guess 2 Hander, link says Greatsword.

The mesh is great, but the design is much too Kit Rae for me.

looks awesome in my opinion. Would look good with the blood dragon if you textured it similarly. (just saying).

I would love a one handed model since I dislike two handed weapons in DAO but that is just me. Perhaps if Bioware improved the animations I would change my mind. It just looks awkward in my opinion.

Just wanted to bump this and let everyone know that Exede has published the final! It would have been sooner, I'm sure, but ... he was waiting on me. And I was slow. :D

how high is the polycount on that one?

by my guessing it runs in the 10 thosands with all those perfectly curves edges and dragon ornaments

Would it even run in game?

I just counted them up, and there are 4,798 polys (ok, maybe I just looked at the file properties).

I did the screenies in game. The game didn't even blink. I've got an E6600 w/a mere 2Gb of ram and an old EVGA 8800GTS w/640Mb RAM. Not a slouch of a system, but not bleeding edge, either. I've got the graphics cranked up pretty good, and play in 1920x1080.

I don't know what the limit is on polys for a sword before it starts to choke the game, but this thing isn't causing any problems...

5K polys for a sword is a tad excessive. You should be using that model to generate a normal map which you can to a base model about 1K polys. That's the whole point of normal maps.

I'm just doing the textures, partner. And I ramped the polys up to about 4 million in zBrush to do the normals. ;-)

no wire frame? :o 5k could certainly be reduced quite a bit if the modeler wanted to.
