The worst is when they quickly change difficulty to bronze and all are ready so you quickly start the game to keep them from waiting. That is irritating before you learn to always check the settings.
Who of you completed at least 100 waves on Platinum on every map?

I've played more Platinum games prior to the challenge system update, and god knows I hardly touch it now. It's not that fun and I'm only willing to play it if I'm in the mood and if I'm in a solid group. Gold can be a pain if a couple of teammates keep botching up. Platinum would be rage inducing, in this case.
There was a bigger incentive to play Platinum before I got the Operative banner but since I obtained that by other means, I'm going to have to find some other incentive....like a 5 year old rationalizing vegetables over dessert.

I have, and while I don't deny that he's cleared Platinum games with the help of friends in 20 minutes average, his experience can hardly be applied to the entire playerbase. These type of results are in the minority. Why should it be surprising that a lot of people find Platinum tedious when taking this into account? Especially since I know Mega to be extremely judgemental towards random players and often complains about how bad they are.
His comment is disingenuous, and Gold with good players is still enjoyable to many. It's a good way to socialize, kick back, and not take the game so seriously.

Believe it or not... very few people on BSN regularly play platinum... maybe 10-20%. Alot of people here have maxed their manifests and don't need the money, so they play Gold b/c it's relaxing/easy.
I agree that with 1-2 other players, Gold is fun. But when I got a full team, and the Gold games are ending in 15 minutes tops... then yeah, let's ramp it up to Platinum. Not even for the money... it's for the kills. In Gold games, I spend more time running around looking for the enemy then I actually do killing them... that's not a problem in Platinum.
Also... Platinum actually has a small chance of failure, this chance is infinitely small on Gold.

I'm working on this now in my attempt to complete all challenges at least once.
I have like 1141 more platinum waves or something and just under 3000 waves with characters. 1 platinum solo, a couple biotic powers, and a few extractions.
EDIT: It's hard to PUG platinum, especially outside of playing on rio.
But hey, If anyone wants to work on some platinum maps (on xbox), let me know!

Now we are at least 3 (who managed to complete a minimum of 100 Platinum-waves on each map except the Hazard since Retaliation):

Maybe I'm the first on PS3 - so far I've not found another (prove me wrong - I'd love to find more regular Platinum-players on PS3).
I did my 130+ extractions with 11 different characters because I was constantly running out of high-level equipment.

We changed map and enemy in every game but had to stop playing against Collectors after several complete PS3-freezes of the entire squad. So I had roughly
40 x Cerberus
40 x Reapers
40 x Geth
10 x Collectors
Thanks to all my friends and randoms who helped me to attain this goal.

Well done.
I now have 100 on White, Glacier and Giant, and am 3-4 games away from achieving it on several other maps. A few of them are a lot further behind like Hydra. Some maps just never seem to come up when I play UUP (and I almost only do that).

I haven´t done too much platinum but my friends are improving and i am happy to see that. In the future i will host only platinum matches, i guess - this means they have come far.
Damn, some were still playing bronze a few weeks ago - they ARE GOOD NOW.
