The whole premise of DA2 is BS actually...Mage-Templar conflict is BS...Bioware should focus on Grey Warden, Darkspawn, Archdemon and The Blight story

that is so one sided, because there are firstly not that many "old gods" (i question them being "gods" at all for me they are powerfull cole-like spirits (in the ways they do not know what they are or don't care) or something along that lines) left and there can't be blights non stop...i would get old fast IMHO

greetings LAX
ps: i am glad they show us a different side of Thedas :) (that is one of the only things i liked about DA2 - i love playing DA:O/DA:A etc. but it is a limited view of the world (and i am kind of still pissed they forced my character to drink that blood when i would have loved to shove it up Duncans backside...i would still have helped Alistair though and i would have turned Apostate afterwards and would have run off to Tevinter!)

Well, this is the same game where Decimus assumes that Merrill (a Dalish elf) must be one of the templars (despite the Dalish and the templars being opposed to one another since the war with the Dales), so I suppose we shouldn't expect much.

Yeah...i do make a set up 3 Mges 1 Rogue (Hawke, Anders, Merill and Varric), Decimus look at them accusing them Templars...Grace said they are not Templars...Decimus said "I don't care what shield they are carrying!"...what shield? 3 of them carrying staff and one carry a crossbow machine gun

Blood magic make Decimus "blind" is not an excuse, it is totally about writing and game design f**ked up

Yeah, it was astoundingly ridiculous. No one even remotely resembled a templar. Merrill's presence alone would nullify such a thought.

The darkspawn are terrible villains/enemies, I definitely prefer the templar/mage conflict rather than DA's version of orc fodder.

Agreed! If each DA game was all about a Grey Warden fighting a new Blight/Old God/Darkspawn, I would probably lose interest very quickly. I really liked DAO, but I don't want them to keep re-releasing it.

Anders had a problem with mages being forced to give up their freedom to
an oppressive system that had been going on for almost a thousand
years. He wanted to free all mages across Thedas from the Chantry
controlled Circles; he wasn't trying to win a popularity contest.

It is a bit of a popularity contest really though, His actions severely damage the mages reputation and the mages can't have a horrible reputation if they want to get the support of the nations of thedas.. And if they don't get the support of any of the thedosian nations they will  be annihilated

I never wrote that.

I don´t see whats so ridiculous about an apostate wearing robes and carrying a staff. In both games we have seen non mages using robe like clothing and using staves.Hell, IIRC we have even seen dwarves carrying around staffs and nobody is going to accuse them of being apostates anytime soon.

As far as wearing other kinds of armor you have always been able to do that as long as you had the stats for it(Well most of them)

But yeah..Dragon age 2 had some pretty derpy moments regarding the whole apostate thing..

But seriously, if the Templars started arresting people for what thyey wear then mages don´t need to worry too much because their opponents are a bunch of morons.

The point of the line was that Decimus didn't care - he thought you were there working for a templar. And he was right - you were there expressly at Thrask's behest. Now, you didn't have to want to harm them at all. But he was not far off from the truth.
