I've been playing ME3 and noticed that it's the potential apolcalypse and Shepard is going around the galaxy attempting to unite all the different races under one banner to attack the reaper threat and yet when you look at the people who are accompanying him there's a stunning lack of diversity:
1 x Turian
1 x Asari
1 x Quarian
1 x Prothean
1 x AI
Lotsa Humans!

Now while I don't want to get into a whole ME2 Squadmate DLC thread don't you think that many of the other races would want a representative on the Normandy who can assist Shepard?

I mena why don;t the Salarians, the Krogan, the Vorcha, the Volus, The Hanar and the Elcor send a representative?

Ok, the Hanar wouldn't be useful but then they could send a Drell in to assist and these peopel would have direct lines of communication with the head of state (planet) and Shepard to ensure that he can assist them and also that he is looking after their interests?

If not representatives then at least part of the elite fighting force that each of these races have surely?

What's everyone elses take?  Were Bioware a bit under representative with the races in ME3? Should they try to increase the scope in ME4?

With his Fortification, Shotgun, Carnage, and ridiculous Health & Shield bonuses, you might as well pretend James replaced a Krogan.

If we're going for full representation, why not have full representation in all 3 games? There should be at least one person from every species/sentient type of being that cares about reapers right???

I dont want my team to look like I had to fill an "Alien quota" to avoid being labeled a space racist. Its Still an alliance war vessel, not an embassy

I don't mind so much on the Normandy. I would have liked to have a base in London similar to what is there in the Omega DLC, with all the different aliens running around.

This. No need to be obnoxiously PC. We get more than enough of that "I'm not racist, I have a ________ friend!" jazz in real life.

We could have had something like DA:O where we got emissaries from the different armies we recruited hanging around our camp.

Normandy isn't flying UN or embassy, it is military ship on military missions.

Or do you think that on US battle ships during WWII were also representatives of all Allied nations?

Should've taken a few months off during the war, to pick up some krogan and salarian squadmates, yea.

Funny, I seem to remember already doing that. Now... when was that again? Hmmmm.

Yeah, cos ME3 is very accurate when it comes ot the military...

You're the one person pulling everything together, I'd have thought the other races would want emmissaries or representatives to make sure it;s all going smoothly, as I stated in my post.

Oh yeah, and I'm not being ultra PC, it would have been interesting to get the take from other races about various actions...

It would have been interesting if there were a conference where Victus and Wrex/Wreav describe the Miracle at Palaven. There needed to be more reaction to the outcome at Rannoch. But, frankly, I doubt Victus or Wrex would recommend anything but the destruction of the Geth. Like the rest of the crew (sans EDI), I suspect they'd approve of it if you do it. I'd be interested to see their reactions to the other two outcomes, though. It's crazy that you walk in on James and Kaidan playing poker like nothing happened if you side with the Geth - I'd have liked if a non-romanced Garrus punched Shepard or something.

Diversity for the sake of it is over rated this is a human ship so yeah you're going to have more humans then aliens on it its like going to a Turian ship and then whining how you don't have anything but.

The humans on the ship are diverse then we want at least 2 of every species because it makes us cool people? You don't need to have every species in the galaxy for the sake of it so you can show a badge telling everyone how diverse and tolerant you are. You show tolerance by your actions are you nice to species that are nice to you? And your ship is as diverse as it makes sense to be.

Because BW thinks I like the ME1 team for some reason.

Edit* Normandy is more of an independent ship for me, screw what the whiny alliance ****es complain about.

If anything, I'd like to murder the alliance crew and get the old Cerberus gang back together.

I'm not quite sure if I've given the wrong impression about what I've said but you appear to be saying is that I'm asking for diveresity for the sake of diversity and being 'right on' and that's not my point at all.  The point I'm making is that I would like to see other races reactions to events in the game and to hear their side of what is going on and the best place for that would be on the Normandy (cos I'm lazy and don;t want to keep havign to wander round the citadel)

Plus I'd like to have a Krogan in my party as I enjoyed Wrex and Grunts take on things or having a volus who is driven by profit and the bottom line.

That;s all I'm saying, that more/different races on the Normandy would have given a bit more depth to the plights of the different planets.

Well, you're recruiting races to join the cause, but it's never said that you need representation from everyone in the form of personal right-hand minions to serve on the Normandy. We don't need our ship overstocked with unnecessary aliens as some sort of pointless diplomatic gesture! Just give us your fleet and that will be fine, thanks.

None of your allies join you to act as representatives for different races. Liara and the VS aren't there to represent their species, James, Cortez, Traynor and the rest of the human crew were pretty much stowaways from the Earth invasion and EDI and Javik don't have anybody to represent. Garrus and Tali make an effort to act as emissaries for the turians and quarians, but they're clearly ambassadors second and Shepard BFFs first.

Also, you do get ambassadors for the krogan and geth on-board, as well as proper ambassadors for the turians, salarians and quarians. They just don't stick around because they have better things to be doing.

Yeah true...still a bit gutted at the lack of different allies I suppose, that and no dialogue wheel when speaking with my current allies but that;s for another topic...

*ninja edit - and by allies I mean squadmates*

Bioware thought that we'd appreciate an ugly human more than a krogan
