What else do you expect? Most players are still men. It's called marketing. Deal with it.

If I have played the entire Mass Effect trilogy while consciously ignoring that fact, I would say I already deal with it well enough. The games have a lot of other things that compensate it for me. Turians, for example. All the ones we've seen in the games have been male, and I find them attractive. But the cold truth is that they were not designed for this. I mean, where are the turian strip clubs? Why haven't we seen turian men in relationships with each other? It's a rethoric question, don't answer that.

But seriously, would it be that much to ask for one, just one multiplayer character that is female and wasn't designed with the male audience in mind? Only one? Whose model already exists?

Only butt that really bothers me is Miranda's in SP. And it doesn't so much bother me as it just makes me shake my head. Especially that one scene in her office in ME2 where all I wanted to do was go talk to her, and suddenly 3/4 of my entire screen gets filled with her giant latex-covered butt while she leans forward provactively against the back of a chair or table or something. I actually had tears coming out of my eyes laughing so hard at that. It was ridiculous. I mean, Holy Christ, that was beyond ridiculous.

When it happened in ME3 again I was rolling on the floor. It's just so... Literally in your face. :D

She was kind of an accident, so I wouldn't give them 100% credit on this one. :P But yeah, she's a good example. The only aspect that irks me is that she has been able to be played as lesbian or bisexual since Mass Effect 1, while her brother Manshep had to wait until Mass Effect 3... for just two miserable choices, at that.

Demolisher? (nm, missed the mention) And no, I've never noticed Quarian rear to be detailed. Just because there's some perverted alien butt cult about it, doesn't mean the artists went out of their way to showcase it. The fury's/kasumi's and asari are the most noticeable.

Also if we get Turian females, I doubt they'd be sexualized. Their armor covers them up just like the males, and I don't think anything stuck out on Nyreen's alternate.

I can guarantee that most of the people who want female characters, not discluding girl games here, are guys, because through out the multiple games, female characters have proven themselves some of the biggest bad-ass people in the mass effect universe. I mean, think of Nyreen and Eve, two females that are more powerful than most of he male counter parts of their species. All I'm saying is that not having female characters in multiplayer because the majority of the players are male is not a good reason. Who honestly wouldn't want to play as a Female Turian with biotics or an uber powerful Female Krogan?

I thought we have been told multiple times that Slam will not be in multiplayer. Something about it being problematic to implement?

Afair, the devs would want to rework slam rather than a direct copy as it doesn't work against shielded/armored/barriered targets. It's not that big a deal in SP as the characters have boatloads of powers in comparison to MP but I assume they want to avoid introducing Pull V.2.

Obviously they nominally have the resources to do so during DLC development, but they seem to have a preference for introducing new powers/slight tweaks to old ones over copy+rework existing power.

Dominate falls into that category as well as it was noted that it basically turn any organic unit but otherwise nothing against synthetic units.

That said, we could always be in for a surprise.

I guess I wouldn't change the supersexual aspects already in the game. I get it, it's a game for guys, whatever.

But having a few passing mentions about male characters having relationships with other male characters couldn't hurt. They have been extremely casual about f/f relationships, yet there are only 2 gay characters in the galaxy for all we know. Literally! I guess you could count Mordin in, too, since he rejects Shepard regardless of gender. :D

And that's great, and all. But when you go to the Asari monastery, you find a recording of an asari commando's last words for her partner. Why couldn't we find a scenario like that on Palaven, with a male soldier talking about another male turian? You know, nothing blatant. Just little things like that. For me that would pretty much balance things out pretty well.

On the debate about asari as fan service bait...

Okay, maybe a bit. The bachelor party from ME2 basically pokes fun at this. Even so, as long as they live, why would you want to restrict yourself to one gender, especially when your own is mono gendered? But hey, it could be weirder. They could do the do like the hermaphroditic spotted leopard slug: http://io9.com/58415...sex-than-you-do
Moreover, when your entire species is female, you aren't particularly worried about what some Puritanical human's hangups are about what works best in battlewear, especially when you're the most powerful mortal species in the galaxy. As well, asari have no problem using sex to assure political power and maneuvering. See Aria T'loak using sex to lure her enemies into a false sense of security. After all, if your enemies are staring at your t!ts, they probably won't see it coming when you shoot them between the eyes.

I thought Cortez talks to someone in the hangar about him losing his partner or something. Or it was a movie. I can't remember. I had to listen to it over and over and over again while I was looking at upgrades there.

Edit:

I suppose you could lump it in with the Cortez romance, but you also hear it on Femshep's playthrough. This should count for something..

Counts as throwing a bone to the other half for a change. Although I'm not a big fan of the "dead partner" narrative Thane and Cortez share, but that's another story. Both Cortez and Traynor were excellent additions, in my opinion, but a shame they didn't happen sooner.

But that is precisely my point, and I'm not sure you understand this: they are completely, fully, 100% casual and comfortable with lesbians. Yet there are only 2 male characters that are gay or bi, and they only show up for the third act.
,
Hell, we have literally only seen one female turian in the entire trilogy, but have we encountered any passing, vague mention or hint at male homosexuality among Turians? If we have, please point it out to me, because I didn't see it. And it would have been great to have some, considering that they DID point out Nyreen's sexuality without a problem.

Turians really don't seem comfortable talking about sex in public--period, aside from while ogling a gyrating asari, of course. But that's true with most races. Salarians are very matter-of-fact and clinical about sex (other than Mordin's replacement whose name I'm ruefully forgetting atm) and Tali is very shy about discussing it with Shepard before getting to brass tacks on the whole immune deficiency thing (the quarian talking about her vibrator suit with her turian companion don't count because compatible amino acids, etc.). Outside of that, most people talk in innuendoes, though many humans are very up front about it. On why no m/m ships in first game, well Kaidan is kind of a wuss and needs to get drunk to bang ManShep in 3 in the first place. Maybe it's more a matter of options. Even the best option, Garrus, is someone you'd rather hang out with than necessary do the horizontal shuffle with.

That's subject to personal opinion, if you know what I mean.

I get your point, though. But literally no mention whatsoever, at all? The difference is pretty freaking huge when you write down a list of all the female characters that show interest in other ladies, and compare it to... Kaidan and Cortez. That's it. And Mordin's hint.

WAIT, there is also Gavorn's footage on the Shadow Broker's archive. A scene so short and so vague, that some people even refuse to interpret it as proof of Gavorn being into human men. In fact, it may even be just me projecting my own interpretation. Because he's just sitting on a bed, and a guy walks into view. And that's it. There is nothing that hints romance or sex about it. Meanwhile Khalisa Al-Jilani has a video of her making out with an asari.

Srsly, this thread is about OTS's prophecy, not gay turians and overly sexual blue chicks. That crap belongs on the single player forum.
