Vegitmite grows on you, i prefer the Ozzie stuff rather than UK or NZ Marmite.

re: images, does this mean theyve change from caching the images to not caching? Or is it a PCmasterrace thing, and an .ini file which has been jiggled accidentally?

I'm sure on the PS3 store it i've never noticed it loading each time?

Some of us have limited downloads, we can't afford to download gigantic gifs every single time we visit the store. Fix pls.  

You should have learned by now that BioWare isn't really all that good at planing ahead. 
They just didn't think of caching this stuff when they implemented the store and now they'd have to patch it which they won't do.

On a sidenote: How big are these gifs that they are an actual concern to you (they look rather low-res to me)?

 

They look low res, but they take long enough to load on 20 Mbit internet that their size concerns me. Loading both of them every time I buy a pack will add up. 

\\you're complaining about download speeds and you have a 20mbit line? \\can we swap isp's then you can have my 512 kbit wireless line and i'll take your 20mbit line. First world problems indeed

I used to have 1.5 mbit, got upgraded only recently.

And it's slow enough that it takes yonks for me to buy packs, and also eats into my download limits. I'm not just complaining for the sake of it.

lol that's still faster than mine, I'm lucky if I can get over 1mb

 I'll never understand how anyone can like the stuff, let alone eat it, it's like eating salt in black paste form. Then again I wasn't born in Aus either.

Whatever they did, the store now gobbles up bandwidth like youtube - except it's not very entertaining.

1.7MB of data just to go into the store, and roughly 1MB data per pack bought. Buy 10 packs and that's almost 12MB of data being consumed.

To paraphrase the mugger from the Fifth Element:

"Give the the cache!"

Here I was thinking it was just my internet (also in Australia). Getting the same problem, though it takes about ten seconds to load instead of thirty. Still, it's quite annoying when you want to open multiple packs for the images to have to reload every time.

On PC the images could be blocked. There was time i stumbled upon this but now i searched everywhere and cant find the topic/post. Basicly one had to block the address from witch the images came. Via HOSTS file on windows. I too am playing on a rather limited internet temporarely. I had 16/1 cable but now 2/0,3 wireless lol. I will try and find out how to block those images...
