i hate the ending as much as anyone but for them to metatroll their customers in this way? sorry but i highly doubt i will ever trust anything this company says again. as customers we should now feel empowered that actually....we dont have to put up with this sh.t anymore. and work out the cost of the game with all dlc....then if they charge for an ending dlc.... jeez how much?

I do wonder where they are going with ME4, will it take place before or after ME1-3? Will it have choices that matter... I just hope they leave the F'ing quicktime events out of it....

They don't need to fix anything. You might need to read the codex though. Most of the issues that people claim with this game are more a result of user error than with the game itself.

We've debated this before. I actually DO believe the ending is the result of indoc. The problem is, I do NOT believe that Bioware intended that interpretation. Further, as I pointed out before, if indoc is indeed what is happening, then the game is currently incomplete. Shepard wakes up in front of the beam...and then what? All Shepard did was resist the attempt. The galaxy is in every bit as much danger as it was prior to the dream.

- pre-release statements so opposite of the truth it is almost tempting to believe they were deliberately misleading us
- an inability to understand the value I place in my character and those around him/her
- a spontaneous loss of understanding of the themes and elements that fans love most
- continuity so poor the narrative becomes a fractured mess
- forced death, forced sacrifice, no ability to write them well when it mattered most
- repetitive dev statements about how what I wanted just "wasn't what they were going for," ushering in worries that I'm just not part of their target audience anymore and that future content will hold no satisfaction for me either
- starting romances they can't properly finish
- disturbing indication they are embracing "true art is angsty" attitudes, turning toward grimdark tones, forgetting to put the sweet in bittersweet
- evidence that their understanding of quality has become so divorced from my own it is entirely possible they will obliviously churn out yet more writing I find horrifying
- general unresponsiveness to critical arguments, no matter how well reasoned or articulated
These things fill me with caution and apprehension for ME4.

If it's a sequel: They still need to set a hook.

1.) It gets phenomenal PLAYER reviews who finish the game
AND
2.) It's a self contained story with a clear ending, because I'm not investing anymore of my time into another one of their trilogies.
Otherwise: nope.

If it canonizes one specific playthrough of ME1 - ME3 and doesn't allow save imports: probably not.
If it's a themepark MMO: probably not.
If it goes T-rated: probably not.
We simply don't know any of those things for now, so I'm still very interrested. I really like the Mass Effect universe. I like it way better than other fictional universes like the ones from Star Wars, Middle Earth, Warhammer/Warhammer 2K (and their low quality Warcraft/Starcraft derivates) or Star Trek. Maybe the Game of Thrones and Malazan Empire settings come somewhere near.
That's quite a couple of big fictional settings there. Yet, I somehow like the Mass Effect universe better!
The best thing that could happen in my opinion, was that Drew got full control over the Mass Effect IP again, and other entities (film makers, game developers, writers) got licenses to use the IP. Similar to how the Extended Universe for Star Wars developed over the years. Just with a better captain at the helm.
