Skip homely nades. Get your mates in a tizzy with recon mind. Skipe with your favorite skiper rifle.

On paper, this 66653 build with a javelin looks like it could do a lot of damage. With duration on cloak, and since homing grenade doesn't break cloak, a number of cloaked grenade shots could be released with the cloak damage bonus. Finish off with a cloaked Javelin blast as the coup de grace.
Just don't get shot. ;)

Sorry, but that build is horrible.

The recon mine, yes. Those nades are 2400 damage each (3840 against armor). If you can get off 2 nades and a sniper shot all under cloak, I'd call that a win.

Homely nades are too slow.  I use them on a CQC melee build, but otherwise they mostly suck.

Your DPS while dead equals 0%. Run that in plat and a Ravager crap pile will kill you.

Squishy is hard on plat, no doubt. I can only pull off a HA in platinum well with cyclonic IV, geth scanner, and good teammates.

Adrenaline mod is just as good, maybe even better than cyclonics, especially on the drell.

Cyclonics are a waste on drell characters regardless if it's Platinum or not.

CM-VI helps on the drellguard when playing off-host.  You're less susceptable to the charge&die bug.  Especially on a melee build.  :D

edit: CM-IV (lol VI)

375, but he rolls with 36%-71% true DR for a good chunk of the match.

Why would a sniper drell be anywhere near a ravager
also given that the homing nades are slow you can kill even when you are dead:innocent:

I've always wanted to try him as a melee build since 1) I'm addicted to melee builds and 2) I can't use sniper rifles for crap.

Here you go.  I like him better without the gauntlet.  The slow effect from the recon mine is a big help. The mine's scan always makes me think he's setting up his own personal arena.  Looking back at that thread, I'd probably try this build now.

Venom/GPS/Graal are all good choices. A nice tap to stagger and finish them with a heavy melee, tons of fun as long as no one ever shoots you. The GPS works best of the three off host and is the easiest to use. The great thing about the Drell melee build is, he retains all the weapon damage as a non-melee build for 20 seconds after a heavy melee kill. Image IPB

EDIT: Something like this would be my choice. You lose a bit of melee damage but you become more useful on bosses.

Oh shiny. THanks guys. My Venom is only at four but that and the GPS are liekly the ones I'll try first. I've not played with the graal too terribly much so I'm not as reliable with it. I'd been wondering if splitting the grenade instead of the armor debuff might be a good way to go with him. Really I just need to practice with the recon mine more. I've only tried the kits with is a couple of times and sucked horribly.

I just played it and it's the most fun I've had with the DI on Gold. You can tap the GPS after every melee and it does wonders against Banshees, make sure you melee the Brutes from behind or you'll get blade armor damage, and the Ravagers are as simple as a Charge shot->melee->flip away before the swarmers are released. I'll see about other enemies later.

On my other melee kits, I usually don't melee bosses much (sometimes with the Huntress but her Raider is usually a better option). Speaking of, maybe I'll try a melee drellfiltrator with the Raider first since that's sort of my default shotgun.

Why would I need homing nades when I can kill a whole spawn before HG reaches it?

I can see HG beeing useful for swarmers, but I wouldn't know where to skip points to do that on the sniper build.

I do 3/5/6/6/6. I haven't played in MONTHS (more or less since Bioware stopped making changes to the game), so I might be forgetting some things, but I keep homing grenades at 3 because I HATE them. Tac Cloak goes to 5 because as others have mentioned, if you're not playing as a sniper, you don't really need the damage bonus. Recon Mine with Invasive Scan is a must in my opinion, because you not only help your allies do damage, but you increase the damage of the mine when it explodes. I take 6 in Drell Assassin and go with weapon damage because as an inflitrator, weight isn't super important (and you may or may not even be using a heavy pistol). Finally, I go with max fitness because Drell super speed is just too fun and too cool to pass up.

This is my favorite class, and the one that I'm easily best at; I was skeptical at first when I heard him announced, but the combination of not breaking cover when using his abilities, Drell speed, and how awesome Recon Mine is have made this guy amazing.
