For me it was the Outsider Challenge. That was absolutely miserable. Even with the overlap with Rebellion Phoenix Adept/Vanguard the grind to finish out those last 400 waves was brutal. The SMG challenge was pretty terrible too, but nothing compares to those 200 wave challenges with characters you don't like and never used.

Outsider as well. Hung for a long time. Basically all the 200 waves challenges and the N7 mastery was a pain

I can definitely see the N7 Promotions being rough on those who hate promoting. I actually finished that one first to get it out of the way.

I'm two banners away. Commando is probably the most depressing, with lack of love for playing the new Turians and several Asari classes. I think that's 9 characters minimum which means.. 1800 waves? That doesn't sound right.
Edit: Nevermind, I think it's 7 minimum. 1400 waves.

I don't think anything was super brutal, even grinding some challanges out.
But if I have to name one - it would be N7 Mastery. Not even that it was hard or challenging in any way, shape, or form.
It just....took....forever....

Commando
...missed playing bloodpack and earth characters since they were the first ones I've got.

I'm not there yet, but personally, I liked those 200 waves ones, at least a bit. Found myself trying things I hadn't thought of before. What I hate are these damned promotions. That's all I have left; 21 promotions and I'll have it. How the hell is 200 waves of actual gameplay worse than that?
In terms of ones I've actually finished, Sniper Rifle Mastery was the worst, just because I hate those damned scopes, and the hipfire penalty is a **** and a half. If I try quickscoping, aim autocorrect usually made me hit something else. Did find that I had an affinity for the Javelin, Black Widow, and Indra, though.

N7 and Commando were, by far, the worst of them all to get. And doing Bronze for waves complete is scrubbish. Gold/Plat only pl0x.

N7 Mastery...definitely N7 Mastery.
I was pretty happy with my humble N7 of 390, maxed manifest, decent team player...but noooo, N7 Mastery had to ruin that by making me N7 2190. While I did learn a few things about promoting, I would never do that again. I actually had more fun doing the 200 waves for numerous characters than promoting 60 times.

Commando Mastery. I did sooooo many Bronze/Glacier speedruns. Blood Pack Mastery was a grind as well, but 1400 waves for Commando Mastery was insane.

Yep Commando mastery for me too. The various 200 waves part got me to the point where I was going to walk away from ME3 for a while...didn't end up happening though...

I'm working on mine and, for me, the worst part is the N7 Mastery. If my usual group was a bit more steady I could grind it out like a boss, however downgrading difficulties for pugs is starting to strain on the xp and credit gain. Only twenty-two more promotions to go! Woooo...aaaarrrghshdhsfksjdfkls....

I actually played a lot of the characters in the Commando mastery challenge prior to actually grinding for BotB, so that one wasn't so bad for me.
I guess promotions don't bother me because as long as I can play the classes I enjoy, I don't mind starting from scratch. 1 match in bronze, then 2 in silver, then right back in gold. Easy.

N7, Commando, and Map mastery. Those were the last three I had to do and I did them together to get it out of the way faster.

Not there yet. Getting closer. So far hate Commando Mastery and Sniper Rifle Mastery. N7 came in time and I dug the banner so my angry thoughts are gone now, but I've had to do everything in my power to avoid playing 200 waves with an Asari, including using the g-d Disciple.
Ugh.

Outsider and Machine Mastery were true grinds, though I began to appreciate most of the Outsider characters over time (not so much with the quarians in Machine, unfortunately).

It's a mindboggling number. I like some classes. two or three from Outsider challenge but definitely not most of them.
N7 challenge is probably even worse.

N7. Promoting just plain sucks.

I did a lot of N7 Mastery each week by saving all of my credits and buying up packs once the new character was released. You should be able to save up at least 1 mill from a week's worth of playing. That should get you enough character cards to never have to slum bronze unless your speedrunning.
