A redeemable code for the Omega DLC? Isn't that basically the digital equivalent of coal in one's stocking?

I'm pretty sure that any pay-DLC code on an Xbox is actually only worth the MS points. It's up to the consumer to use the points for their intended purpose or spend them on something else-like going towards a Halo map pass, for example.
