I think it is. It's just used way too often for too many reasons for it have any kind of meaning now. As a guy in my middle 20s I remember a time on the internet where users generally used normal words. If people disagreed? They'd say "I don't agree with your statement/opinion/whatever". If someone said something stupid. like a racial slur and it was meant as an insult they'd be called a racist ****. If they meant it as a joke, they'd be called an idiot. Say something objectively wrong? Then you'd be told so.

Now it's fairly normal to simply be called "troll" as response to all of the above. See what I'm getting at? The word troll often adds to the confusion, and rarely ever means anything of value.

It's stupid bull**** Internet terminology, and I hate it with a passion. Screw 'epic,' I'd erase 'troll' from the memory of every Human being if I could.

Troll is an epic term. People misusing the term is not the term's fault. It's like saying the word "ironic" is idiotic because 75% of people don't actually know what the word friggin means.

"u mad" on the otherhand is an utterly useless term that is used by people who cannot properly construct rebuttals.

Yeah I mislike it too. Essentially it has underwent the same massive inflation of meaning words  lile..say, "lo"l have experienced.

Sadly, unlike lol&co, calling people troll counts as a perfectly valid argument in books of many.  Combine this with inflation in meaning and you have such  an umbrella term . You can use troll to try and discredit anyone who disagrees with you, presents a POV you don't understand or agree with, or has sense of humor you don't follow. They all are trolls.

Unlike with "lol" replies, most annoying part is that often enough people who go around declaring others as trolls are sure they are making perfectly valid and accurate argument or  observation. Often enough they are not! People who do this are usualy essentially sh!t posting a thread  without realizing it themselves.
