That still just means Shepard is no longer human and still alive as an Ai.

By that "logic", all the people that the Reapers juiced to make a new Reaper are still alive too.

Paragon/renegade has generally been about different attitudes toward the same goal.  This new monster obviously thinks like a Reaper.  It "understands" and "comprehends" what a mere human could not.  Chances are, it's going to reach the same conclusions as the last AI.  It thought it was doing things for the greater good too.

Then you're not understanding why the catalyst came to the conclusion to preserve organics. It was programmed to. It's a shackled AI.

Funny, I was just thinking the same about you.

Translation:I have no way to counter that. I'll just make fun of him to try to avoid the point.

I don't have to, the notion that a shackled AI wiped out its creators kind of makes fun of itself.

They are slaves down to their very mind... A fate worse then death.

I like to think of it as one more example of autodialogue. They never asked me how Shepard should feel about Thessia, and they certainly didn't ask me how he should feel about transhumanism and mind uploads.

You mean "I like to headcanon it as".  Because autodialogue doesn't specifically state that Shepard is dead.

A Shepard is dead.

True.  Your Shepard is dead.  Mine beat the Reapers and lived to tell about it. :wizard:

Except for the fact that the concept is not new to scifi.(Hal from Space oddyessy 2001)(The 4th rule for the 3 robot laws)(Tron legacy)

And that is what happened...

Leviathan: The intelligence was envisioned as another tool
Shepard:And now we all pay the price of you mistake
Leviathan: There was no mistake. It still serves it's perpose

And on it's programing aka perpose...

Leviathan:  To counter this problem we creater an intelligence with the mandate to perserve life at any cost.

That basicly means  they made a shackled  AI to solve a problem with no limit ever given to how.

And thatis data...Data that can be tranfered. And that is the point your missing about the geth.. As long as the geth have the data of other geth, the persona of that geth do not die.
Legion tells yo this in ME2.

But Legion only had a "personality" because of the number of processes running on that platform at the same time. Even then, it wasn't much of one.

If you think "You don't understand what the problem was" is uncivil, this must be your first day on the Internet.

And like the geth that is data. If the data is transfer, the persoanality is transfered.

AHHH! What is this magic device in front of me?! So strange, I give it a command and it follows said command to the letter. Com-pu-ter? Oh wait, nevermind...it's just a catalyst. ;)

Hard to say. We have very little to go on exactly what a "Geth process" is. Are they different? How do they work? We don't know. However, it's not quite the same since a singular geth process, or even small groups HAVE no personality.

There's no "headcanon" to it.  Shepard survive high EMS destroy.  You keep nothing in synthesis.  You've successfully genetic raped the entire galaxy in one fell swoop.  Way to be WORSE than the Reapers.

Heuristics =/= Shackles...
Shackles would prevent the Catalyst from taking certain actions that it may or may not want to commit...
It has nothing to do with how it comes to conclusions or its programming processes that simulate desires...

Yes there is headcanon to it. There is ONLY your headcanon. Bioware themselves said that the breathing scene in high EMS Destroy could just as well be Shepards last breath before he dies. It requires headcanon to say Shepard lives in High EMS Destroy.

You know as little about medicine as you do about... well, anything else.  You're pretty well ignorant of everything from what I've seen.  Anyway, the contents of End03_Shepard_Alive clearly show an inhale, not an exhale.  The infamous "last breath" sound, ask any doctor or nurse that tends to hear it a lot such as ones at nursing homes, is an exhale.  The sudden audible inhale such as what hear here, is generally when someone is brought back after a period of not breathing.  Oh, and BW's official collector's guide states the Shepard survives EMS destroy.  "Shepard lives."  Now go rob a train or something.

Two things I wonder...
1. Which people wouldn't accept a small amount of genetic alteration in order to prevent genocide?
2. For those sufficiently selfish to refuse, why should I care?

But I can avoid both fates with Control, so it works out.
