I just got Jade Empire SE from Steam last night. I played it for a little while earlier today and thought i had saved and exited the game. When I went to load it back up again - there was no saves in the load game window.

So this time when I started it back up again I checked by saving the game and then looking at the load game screen and sure enough even though it says it is saving the game there are no saves to be seen. There's no way I can just sit and play the game from start to finish so any ideas how I fix this problem?
