Edit 2: Please dont keep reading, just go to this poll : http://social.biowar...2/polls/42440/

Edit: Excuse me for the following ****storm, it was the heat of the moment and stuff. I didnt know taht they had asked peope whether to keep the acolyte as it is, or change it. So please excuse that. I reamain with my opinion that it kinda sukcs now, but I see a lot of peope dont think the same.

I think the title explains it. WHY THE F**K BIOWARE!!. Hated the Acolyte when it had the charge ****, then they change it, and it was really good for adepts, now they change it again, AND THAT SUCKS!
Come on, is the only gun in the game that dosent fire when you pull the trigger. It gets you kill the charge time!
So yes, really really angry about that! Congratulations Bioware, you managed to f**k up one of the best guns!! Nerfs for everyone!!!!!

Learn how to use it. It's difficult, but it can be done.

Or just deal with it.

The original design was the way it was always meant to be used. They changed to try and curb missile glitching, saw it had no impact, so changed it back to the original design.

Wasn't a nerf.

Yhes, i know, it was the heat of the moment. Still, it was really better before, when you didnt have to charge. Dont know who came with that idea of the charge, but it was a BAD idea.

I heard that the Acolyte firing mode will be switched periodically.

Seriously, I've come to notice only the top hardcore players and trolls like this change. I think it was a monumentally bad decision to nerf it(and yes, it is a hard nerf).

The excuse about rocket glitching being the factor is so inane and stupid. Yeah, right. Bioware's just mad everyone was using this gun to even the playing field against phantoms, which are their top mary-sue enemy unit.

Let's hope they revert it. Leave missile glitchers be.

It's a gun that's insanely powerful against shields, staggers nearly everything, is pretty damn accurate at long range once you get used to how the projectiles fly, makes an utter joke of phantoms, can be used to hit enemies in cover or around corners, does AoE damage so can keep entirely spawns at bay, and can also deliver ammo powers in that AoE.

It has to have some drawback. That used to be charge. Without the charge, it overshadows every other heavy pistol in the game. So they already began to nerf its damage to keep it at bay. Much better to revert to the charging and get our damage back than to keep nerfing it until it's truly useless.

I'm glad they did this. I loved the Acolyte before the charge was removed, so I'll still love it now that the charge is back.

Really? Another thread on this? Grow up, its a game for 1 also the gun hasn't been nerfed or broken and isn't unusable now you just need to learn to use it better charge it up as you run fire it when needed you can normally get a view of whatever enemy you want to use it on in enough time to charge it.

Ok then put the damage to be of a fully charged shot, but allow to shoot uncharged shots. That wouldn be op.

The Acolyte got quite a large buff today. You should be happy.

Takes like 2-3 seconds to shot. That gets you killed if you play plat. Even if you play gold. You are standing without doing anything for 2-3 seconds. I dont care about the buffs, it didnt need them.

Played Plat with the reverted Acolyte last night. Did not die any more than usual. Scored about the same as the usual. Image IPB

Why did some people prefer it with a charge mechanic? What is the reasoning?

The Acolyte's charge only takes 1 second. If you get used to it, you can actually get a higher fire rate now than when the charge was removed. Putting the charge back also removes the delay before reloading, makes it possible to fire it under cloak without breaking cloak, and makes it possible to fire it while running.

Charge is harder to use, but it's not purely a disadvantage.

The Acolyte now fires at a much faster rate than it used to.

Just get used to charging it pre-emptively.

What im saying is that playing as an adept with that gun now kinda sucks. For example, i used it in almost every adept. Acolyte + dark chanel + throw = kill anything. And i liked that.

They did revert the Acolyte. It's back to being the gun it was intended to be.
