I think we are not in the same page. Im not talkig about the damage, I never said anything about the damage. I think that the damage is perfect. The only thing i hate is not beeing able to shoot when i pull the trigger. That delay killed me a lot when the gun first came out, so i rarely used it. Then they change it, and i used it in like every adept or class without shield stripping abilities. Now that they are back to the charge, i have to switch to the hurricane or the talon.redBadger14 wrote...

OP you must suck at the game.
Acolyte was always meant to wipe out enemy shields/barriers. The revert back to charge up and previous damage hardly did anything. I used the Acolyte yesterday on Platinum, it still wipes out barriers and shields easily. And if you actually know how to use it, you account for the charge-up time and shoot it from a safe distance.
So, quit whining and learn2play.
"previous damage hardly did anything" And im the one that sucks.
"The revert back to charge up and previous damage hardly did anything."
This is saying the Acolyte revert from yesterday hardly affected its effectiveness. Thus, it is still good.
Good lord, the idiocy here.
I realize that your OP was a sh*tstorm, but you should have just removed it completely. However, I apologize for being abrasive.
That being said, yes, the damage after all the buffs was great, but the Acolyte is still very effective after everything has been reverted. Not sure what level your Acolyte is, but I have an Acolyte X and I can strip Banshee barriers in two shots, Atlas shields about two-to-three shots, Primes about two-three shots, and Praetorians two-to-three shots. If you aim well and keep your distance, you can easily account for the charge-up time and travel speed/drop-off. Smaller enemies with shields and barriers usually just take one hit from the Acolyte to take them out. In fact, the damage loss from the revert is negligible.

Yeah, because it actually has a faster RoF now and no annoying delay before you can reload it.

Because why actually learn how to use the weapon in the way it was intended to be used, when you can just complain about it instead?

Before I could "quick-scope" the Acolyte, launch a Cryoblast, and duck down in the time it takes me to charge the current Acolyte. Many times a rocket or rifle shot strikes my cover immediately after doing this; meaning, had I been up any longer (say to charge the Acolyte) I would have taken the attack to the face rather than avoiding it and having a frozen target (or targets) waiting for me to quick-scope and Incinerate (and presumeably cryo explode).
That said, the biggest downside to the -chargeless- Acolyte for me was when I wanted to change weapons--quite a noticeable pause there. However, I could do that from behind cover. Also, I'm not sure why some people have an aversion to hard cover (other than getting glued to it at an inopportune time). You can still slide along it as well as slide around corners without exposing yourself so the mobility is still there.

Anyway, if it was sarcasm, i take it partialy back. I'm still yet to find a reasonable argument about why it is bad if the gun is noob-friendly in this game. I understand it in a PVP, for example, i hate in World of Tanks when some noob in my team with a kv-2 belives hes/shes invisible with the derp and dies in the first minute, but I dont understand it in me.
PS: i didnt knew about poe's law, but a quick search provided the info.

When everyone plays the same class, fights the same enemies on the same maps using the same weapons the game gets boring very quickly.
All rare weapons should be competitive with one another in terms of usefulness & utility because it promotes variety. What's the point of having all of these different guns when one is objectively better than the rest in it's class? The Acolyte without the charge function was incredibly easy to use and the kind of power/utility that comes with the Acolyte should have some drawback... like the charge feature. Without a drawback, the gun becomes hilariously unbalanced in comparision to other weapons.
Next you'll post a thread asking for the removal of the PPR's charge up time, and 600 base spare ammo capacity for the Harrier.

I find RoF or DPS isn't as important and generally lackluster on these explosive weapons, they generally fulfil a utility role by staggering, applying ammo and damaging multiple enemies. To keep them staggered timing is more important.
As such the increased DPS of the Scorpion holds little to the better ammo application and ease of use of the Acolyte. Meanwhile the Falcon is outclassed in everything, but AoE.
