The Acolyte's charge only takes 1 second. If you get used to it, you can actually get a higher fire rate now than when the charge was removed. Putting the charge back also removes the delay before reloading, makes it possible to fire it under cloak without breaking cloak, and makes it possible to fire it while running.
Charge is harder to use, but it's not purely a disadvantage.

Regular Shot- Low damage & low chance to stagger.
Charged Shot- High damage & high chance to stagger.
Don't care about the whole "casual & pro" argument, I would just like to see it regain it's usage of the past couple of weeks- where more and more random players were willing to take it along to strip shields and barriers off enemies.

On PC the Hurricane and Talon are easily two of the best choices for the GI. In CQC the Talon is basically a 7 shot Claymore with a faster reload (you can one shot any non-boss in the game, as well as things like Ravagers etc.) and takes down bosses at incredible speeds too.
And the Hurricane just shreds everything, with good aim and recoil control it's arguably the best choice for the GI.

It wasn't nonsensical whining. It was pointing out the fact that changing how a weapon functioned to stop missile glitchers would be all well and good if missile glitching actually stopped when the Acolyte was changed. It was NOT.

It is useful when you are the last survivor and there is nothing but Atlas/Primes left on Platinum, so you might use Viper+Acolyte, but aside from that situation it never was worth using.

Your false assumption that I would find it difficult to use a Hurricane or Talon with an Xbox controller is cute. We get it already, headshots are EZ mode on PC.
But really, neither of those weapons are even competition for a fully amped up Particle Rifle with Incendiary ammo IV and all of the GI's absurd weapon bonuses.

If it's not a case of them being harder to use properly on xbox (no matter what you say xbox players CANNOT kill as fast as PC players, the horrible controls make sure of that), then the fact that you think of them as "caster weapons" is rather odd. Makes me think you haven't bothered to try them.
I kill just as quickly with a Talon/Hurricane as I do with a PPR. If not more quickly.

Well, maybe not for a fully amped PPR. But both are arguably better overall, and definitely better than the Claymore, Piranha, Harrier, or BW. I'd put both ahead of the Raider and Javelin as well

I thought I was the only one who used these type of weapons on a Infiltrator...
It's good there's those who know what they're talking about from Experience.
also: Paladin is another good choice of weapon (though mine is level X) so yes, it's very powerful.
Claymore will always be The Choice of Weapon for all classes

Well, I'm not a hardcore player, but I do like the charge mechanic. It synergizes with powers beautifully. Just keep it charged all the time and fire a power and the acolyte at the same time. It will destroy everything in your path.
Once you learn to use it, you will see that it works.
