Deception the movie
Paragon Lost: The Prequel to the Prequel Mess that was Deception
I've seen about 20 minutes of it total. Krogan and Vorcha look nothing like, glasses in space in a helmet, intact Sovereign, Citadel orbits a planet, dead-face animation, bland voice acting, almost no movement from characters when speaking outside of a battle, and the colors (especially on the Collectors) are just atrocious.
I'm (not) sorry, but I hate this thing.

The overall plot was tight given the structure it had to follow and the writer did a very good job there. Mac Walters could hardly do worse than to watch and see how to properly use a child for emotional plot value. In fact, watching the movie with ME3 in mind really made it more obvious how the narrative in the game failed.
I liked the homages given to both ME & ME2. They were subtle, but there were definite reminders of things that I liked in earlier games...the bouncy ride in the MAKO being one of the more notable. I had the feeling that the writer had actually played those games and it showed.
The art style was...lamentable. I was really expecting more from the group that gave me GITS & Appleseed. I chalked it down to a 'Bioware got what they paid for' scenario. Production IG's best touches were with the Kodiak and how it was used. I also liked actually seeing the use of biotics in combat, something we rarely see in the game itself and I thought it well done.
The voice acting...I didn't like the visual of James Vega, I will confess, but Freddie Prinze Jr did a spectacular job with the voice to the point where what he looked like didn't matter, it was Vega. His effort was what made this movie good.
The rest of the voice acting...was not so good. I was convinced that Captain Toni's VA was Jason Douglas throughout the film only to find out it wasn't and I had similar trouble with others, notably figuring out who Vic M. was doing the voice of...they simply sounded too much like each other. And I like Monica Rial as a VA, but this was not her best work. I can't decide if it was because she had such little grasp of the character or because there was so little character to grasp.
The story...was good. It was very well done. The plot was tight, given the frame it had to fill. I was irritated with once more being forced to believe every male goes gaga over whatever asari is near, but that's a personal issue and has nothing to do with the strength of the story. Without going into spoilers, the death of one of Vega's squadmates, how she died, hit me just as hard as some of the deaths in the game.
TL/DR: I liked the movie more than I did the game.

I thought it was awful. I t does make Vega a bit of a better character in ME3 though imo.
I agree with the previous poster, that the story is not that bad, but dialogue and some of the characters are really bad. Also the animation is awful and very hard to overlook.

I literally had zero expectations that anything good could come from this. And you know what? The amount of fail exceeded my expectations.
Watched it jackwagon.
It was bad. Very bad. Almost unwatchable.

- The asari and krogan just looks bad. Shark teeth on krogan, and the 8 crests instead of six.
- Some of the weapons don't work as in the game. Dual weilding a pistol will ruin the aim; dual weilding ARs...
The first reason is enough for me not to want to give it another chance, but I voted "It could have been better."

And dual-wielding pistols and ARs?...This isn't Halo Bioware, it's Mass Effect...
If you're going to do something then do it right dammit.

stupid animestyle ( witch i otherwise have nothing against) didnt give me the
mass effect feel, just simply didnt look like mass effect, just generic animeaction.
and alot of thing that happend are just... i dont know how to word it
about as stupid as the evac shep's LI scene is.
and the lorebreaking. (no spolers i know)
also me2 ending ripof part.
the event in this movie does not fit with anything in me2-3 no matter how you roleplayed shep.
again knowing the events that has transpired and checking so you dont contradict previous events
is important. but was not done LOL.

2.The events in this story happen while your boarding the collector Ship in ME2. The trap.
3.The ending is not a rip of on ME2's ending. You missed the fact here how human lives were not an issue in destroying the base.ME2 ending was ether to destory the base or to keep it. That not how the ending choicein pl is like.

The eyes, nose and mouth were cut out and shrunk them. The guy then found the similar color of the face tones, cover the open gap by the cut in the face and pasted the shrunk eyes, nose and mouth back in.SpamBot2000 wrote...
