I'm currently trying to do the Shale charactor quest where she wants to go to the Deep Road to try and remember who she is.

I've looked at a couple of guides that all say if you didn't take her with you when you did the Anvil quest you have to go back to the Anvil area look at the tablet and then return to camp and she'll remember who she was.

However I have done that and nothing has happened.

Any ideas?

Could it be linked to the rubbing I took earlier and gave to the shaper? Is it a bug or is it another one of those annoying points in the game where once you've done one thing it prevents you forever from doing another?

Ortan Thaig and Caridin's Cross should also work.

I did the rubbing of the runes from the end of Anvil of the Void and then turned that into the Shaperate.

Then I talked to Shale in the party camp and she expressed interest in going to the Deep Roads.

If you bring Shale to Aeducan Thaig she'll remember or recognize the area, and will open a new area in the Deep Roads for you.

Maybe the conversation option to get it all started is locked based on approval rating?

Thanks, going to Aeducan Thaig with her triggered a memory and opened up a new Thaig on the deep roads map,
