I wasn't downed, I just closed my eyes for a second! Dead serious!

Also reload canceling.

Yesterday someone kept medi gelling. I asked why, he said he had so many, it didnt matter if he wasted them. I told him I'd revive him next time. He died, i ran for him, tried to medigel - and went into cover instead and a trooper stomped him :(

If its a clusterf*ck (like escort or hack waves and we have ravagers or Scions shooting us from the other side of the map and wiping us) then i will medigel. Or if ive done something retarded, like Biotic Charge into a mob. Otherwise I'm happy to wait until im at risk of being stomped or bleedout

You really should gel before you go down.
Just saying.

I instantly revive when I know it's too much of a risk for team mates. I'm not going to expect you to revive me when there's a phantom straddling my body, and if there are enemies around my body capable of stomping it, I'm not going to wait until the last second.

I only insta-gel if it was my fault that I died, so I feel like my teammates shouldn't have to risk themselves to res me.

Because insta-stomping still happens, especially with dragoons. If I go down and a dragoon is nearby I check and see what he is doing. If he immediately comes and stand on top of me, I know a stomp is incoming, sometimes immediately after I go down.

I'll gel fast on objective waves, such as disable devices. Players who get stomped away from the group on waves 3, 6 or 10 are lame.

Another time I've done it is when I died when I was zoomed in and a pyro was near me. Couldn't see anything and didn't want to fall out of the fight.

Yeah, when I play against the Geth, my rage-gel percentage goes up around 254%.

Totally agree with that. Rage gel equals rage missle which equals satisfaction at blowing up the freaking swarm of stun locking nonsense staggering you constantly.

Provided you have a decent amount of medigel or are on later waves, have you considered that not using medigel takes two guns out of the fight for a few moments?

How long does it take for things to go sideways on higher difficulties? A few moments.

I gel in distinct situations Sometimes a persons thinks I gel cause I'm stupid and incapable to know when but.. being nearly stomped... and also seeing opportunistic that I just need to gel period anyways, also to prevent stupids form charging in and reviving me when I don't need it and was just simulating in my head stuff, hate when I get revived ON the acid pool of a ravenger... and was just waiting for it to dissipate...

love whent hey brign a banshee with em and they revive me and then 2 brutes and antoehr banshe jump in and kill be STRAIGHT after.. Fck me

I'll gel quickly if I know that the situation is going to get worse if I don't.

IE: I'm the one covering the backsides of 3 other players who have no idea that the only reason that a pair of hunters and a rocket trooper or two haven't made it to them yet is because I've been systematically turning metallic noggins into grey goo before they get the opportunity to cause some damage.

If I get up quickly, I might be able to salvage the situation.

For me, ever since I maxed out my manifest, I've been much more liberal with my use of consumables. Since I don't have to save credits for PSPs anymore, I can get all my consumables back after every game by spamming a few recruit packs or JEPs.

So I'd much rather spend a gel immediately rather than be out of the fight and force my teammates to rez me. Of course, this is on gold, not sure why they do it on bronze, other than rage.

I insta gel in later waves if I am not on my last gel. This is based on a lot of bad experience with ppl getting themselves killed and/or ddragging a banshee on top of me while trying to ress.

So I do a couple of bronze matches this afternoon while waiting for company to turn up at my house. One thing I have noticed, and this happens in silver too and even with people with high N7 levels and challenge ratings, but they go down to something. Don't care what it is or how stupid it was. But I am standing less then two foot away and they instantly revive themselves with medigel. Ok maybe they didnt realise I was so close. They go down again, sometimes the same wave, often with me being in sight of them or right in front of them. Insta-medigel again. Wtf?? Ok, so now they have to have only two medigel left. Most of these people do not help with the objectives and need to be revived, get stomped on because no one wants to leave the objective zone and don't use medigel because of being about to be stomped. Next wave, they insta-medigel themselves again.

Is this insta-medigel a common occurence or am I just playing my matches with... I don't know what to call them... And if it is a common occurence, no bloody wonder you people never have medigel left!!!

side effect of reload canceling...when im in the process of reload canceling and i die it registers me using a gel and hence why some ppl say its rage gelling but all the case.

Because experience teaches one never to trust a PUG to revive you. Or maybe they were trying to use an ops pack but lag made them fall and the game decided to make them use a medigel instead (happens regularly to me).

Insta-gel use is fine. What I can't fathom is why some players, who have medigel and are playing in a good game, REFUSE to use medigel at all, especially when they're about to get squished.

Sometimes rage. If on bronze...definitely total embarassment. Also if in a bronze pug, you never know what your teammates are going to do, even if they're close. Better to be safe than risk an instant stomp.

If I'm sufficiently enraged or embarassed, I'll instagel sometimes. I'll also do so if I'm in a bad spot and I don't know that no one will mount a suicidal rescue mission.
