I am trying to get to the Alienage but the game won't let me go there.  I have spoken to Arl Ermon and Anora til I am blue in the face and have the templar, elven, mage and dwarf emissaries sitting in my camp.  I do still have some unfinished quests but I think most of them revolve around getting to things after the Alienage.  I'd really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

Are you using the World Map and its greyed out? I think you have to leave through the proper exit to get to the Alienage, not using the World Map to get there. The big gate in the south east corner of the Market District, with the guard standing in front of it, should take you there.
