The Claymore being very limited range, and the Widow being a sniper rifle.

This. So much. I don't know why we're comparing the Crusader with the Claymore and the BW in the first place. It's like comparing the Claymore WITH the BW just because they both weigh a lot. Nonsense.

Recoil CAN be controlled, yes, but it will almost always negatively impact ROF.

Err, not really. Bosses are so large that hitting them at full ROF isn't a problem. For infantry, you'd be going for headshots anyway and the gun is pretty good at staggering them.

One solution might be to use the fire mechanics of the saber as they are similar. Will require a patch of course no matter the solution to the aim bug. However this might work. I would be obliged to use the thing more if not for a really dodgy aim.

The Claymore does high enough damage that a few pellets missing still does a ton of damage

So, in a discussion about a gun's weight, we should ignore guns in the same weight class? That's nonsense.

Today I have played three Gold games with my Crusader IV on TSent.
Two of them were against Reapers, and it absolutely wrecked everything. Well, Reapers are easy mode anyway.
The third match was against Cerberus. Wiped on the 6th wave. It was awful. I couldn't hit a single Nemesis and had to melee them... Should have used Disruptor Ammo.
After all it's still a good weapon. I will try it against Cerberus again when I level up TSent and take recharge speed for Overload...

Exactly how started using my Crusader yesterday.
TSent with speed Overload and one of the chain evolutions and it did great against geth and reapers.

Bloody nemeses though... I hear ya :D
Phantoms on the oter hand... It has JUST the right amount of shots/clip for me to go face to face with them using an overload and a headshot after every flip (since I'll miss one every now and then the clip size makes up for my fail, whereas a Wraith for instance forces me to play more cautious against them). Pure win...

The Crusader is a wonderful Phantom killer. And Banshee killer. And Brute killer. I'm sorry what was it that outclasses it again?

No followup damage, instead you are stuck with reload.

Most of the time it doesn't even onehit kill.

This is why I like AT-Raider, reload cancel is bit faster (or just feels that way) and you have the followup shot that you can shoot instantly. Claymore is a bit of a letdown for me. If  you got one shot, it should kill with one shot on gold when using shotgun amp 3 and ammo power.

There was many times I thought: "Man, if I didn't have this Claymore with me, I would have already smoked that guy!"

But about Crusader, atleast it has fast reloads and 4 shots in the chamber. And does good damage. So it's not half bad. Too bad about the aiming problem, but hey, 4 shots to get it right. And it's usualy high damage hits as it is.
