Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but many of the Adepts seem to be really pathetic

How any one could take lash over singularity baffles me. Singularity is the swiss army knife of biotic powers. Incapacitate mooks? check. Prime and detonate (everybody takes the detonate evo right?) all enemies? check. Isn't effected by dodges like most projectile powers? check. The old singularity was meh but the current version is ridiculous.

Lash has the worst damn animation in the game that renders it weak in terms of dps contribution and leaves you vulnerable if you try and target anything at a distance. The only thing lash has going for it is detonating unarmored targets with singularity. But why sacrifice points for so narrow a purpose? If it's at range singularity that same enemy and use your warp ammoed weapon of choice to pop his shields off and dot/explosion/teammates will do the rest if you don't want to waste another bullet.

Just a general note on adepts. Don't think of them solely as power users. I admit I used to do that with phoenix adept back when you could smash nonstop and I just carried around a acolyte to strip shields but I do way better now with an with any of the stronger pistols or maybe a wraith. Warp ammo, especially with any of them that have reave or singularity, or dark channel) makes them beastly dps machines when your intermittently exploding the crap out of things.

Umm... I take at least Rank 3 Lash on my Phoenix Adept to detonate BEs from a distance.

Save stasis for Phantoms or when shielded mooks get too close. The pistol scope is unnecessary. Just aim for the head. This may seem like 101 stuff, but when I see AAs in pugs I should be hearing BEs constantly. I don't. I hear gun fire and the occasional warp or throw.

I agree with you but on this point, i don't feel BEs are all that necessary or even fast enough to clear mooks, compared to Paladin X/APistol X headshots.
Most mooks are down in 2 HS (1st shot shieldgates, 2n kills). Even plat dragoons require only 2 HS + Warp, though a BE is indeed safer on them! The latest games i've done as a Paladin-wielding HA/AA have been more around 50 pistol kills/30 BEs than the reverse.

Can't argue with that. Its just that (I'm on Console) headshots are problematic, especially on Dragoons with their irratic, twitchy movement and speed. Its best to stagger or make them combat roll so you can get an easier bead on their melon. My build allows a quick Warp, evade, then Throw for insta-death. No shooting required.

Still, theres nothing more satisfying than splattering a Cerberus melon. Stasis headshots are still fun though. Especially on Phantoms and Nemeses. The AI for some enemies irritates me as well. Twitching in cover while I line up a headshot from across the map? How does she know I'm aiming at her? It seems like some enemies won't return fire until you redirect your aim. Make them peek over their cover atleast. Those Reaper implants must allow full 360degree vision and wallhax.

Hopefully next gen consoles and tech will allow MUCH more realistic AI.

I dusted off the original asari adept again and have been really enjoying playing her. Topped the last 2 gold pugs I played with her. It might just be me but it seems that the dodge rate has been lowered. Very few of my warps missed. I like running incendiary ammo for fire explosions on mooks using throw. Warp+throw on bosses. Probably my favorite character.

I don't understand why anybody bothers with any of the Adepts other than the Fury. She is the perfect killing machine.

AA has more powerful detonations than the fury and I prefer the Asari dodge. Stasis is decent cc on phantoms, hunters etc.

They'd have to be far more powerful to warrant losing DC and AF. I will grant you that Stasis makes phantoms easy mode, though. I prefer being able to blink through solid walls, but I can definitely see the argument made for Asari dodge.

It's just a personal preference thing. No denying the fury is great.

Just like every other adept.
Except maybe the Asari, which is just a poor man's Human sentinel.

Warp >> DC
AF isn't needed , you don't need to be within 2.5m of the enemies to kill them

AA is superior to the human sentinel in my experience. Tech armour damage reduction counts for nothing on higher difficulties and is outweighed by the superior dodge of the asari. Armour Power boosts make no difference to detonations.

not true

if you use a cyclonic mod, the HSent is very tanky thx to the DR, but it slows your CD and take the place of the instant win button that is stasis

Phoenix Adept IMHO is the worst adept in the class. I would swap to a different character at least for a while. Brodept or Justicar might be a good adept class to start with as their a little more tanky than some of the others.

I dont like building classes around consumables. Without the cyclonic on gold at least he's no more tank than an asari.

Three points on Singularity to prime targets
Max out Smash
Max out Lash
Training up to 4
Fitness up to 3

Balanced build. Cast Singularity first to prime targets and then smash the hell out of them for multiple detonations. Use Lash on Phantoms or any enemy that has one more shot on you to kill you and destroy them.

How is basically twice as much health/shields not an improvement?

or spec out of lash because it sucks and max everything else

singularity is either maxed or skipped
there's no point in using a power for multi-priming when the power is only rank 3

not twice as much, effective DR is only 37.5% if you max DR on tech armor
don't ask me why but DR is always only 75% of the listed value

@drainingdragon. Just speaking from experience. I play better with the AA. Okay she has less health shields but has a better dodge, more efficient casting and stasis which all outweigh the HS benefits. If you prefer the HS knock yourself out.

Disagree. Singularity is one of the best powers in the game and will easily kill with its DoT if you shield-strip with an Acolyte.

PhoenixDept build...66653 or bust imo.

Adepts are my favourite class overall. And because I love talking about them and I always have a great fun and success when playing as them, I'm going to share all my builds with you! :D

For the first batch, I like to keep recharge speed 180%+, use whichever weapons you prefer. I use with Paladin VIII, Talon V, Hurricane X and/or Acolyte X. Warp or incediary ammo, or disruptor ammo to help with shields if you wish.

Human: Passiveless, focused on biotic combos.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/Human/QROAR//////

Human: Max Power Damage.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/Human/OQPID//////

Asari: Statis used situationally, throw for mooks, warp+throw for bosses.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/Asari/DQOIR//////

Ex-Cerberus Pheonix: Lashless
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/ExCerberus/OKAPR//////

N7 Fury: Passiveless, focused on biotic combos.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/NFury/RNOAR//////

Volus: Shield boost spammer. Stasis used situationally.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/Volus/DNPJR//////

For the second batch
, I like to keep recharge speed at 130%+, use whichever weapons you prefer.
I use Pirana X, Harrier IX, Reegar X or Indra X. Also use sidearms, Hurricane X or Acolyte X. Warp or incendiary ammo.

Drell: Grenade capacity V. This beast demolishes everything.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/Drell/PAQPR//////

Asari Justicar: Versitile bubble spec.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/AsariJusticar/POAPR//////

Krogan Shaman: Shockwaveless, this class is too slow (because of barrier) for BE focus IMO.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/KroganShaman/NAMPR//////

Batarian Slasher: Grenade capactiy V. Lashless.
narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/BatarianSlasher/QQAPR//////

I hope this was useful! :)

66644 you need some extra shields and health and power damage doesn't increase BE dmg i recommend this for most 666 BE adepts and +30% shields permanent gear, your lacking durability not fire power on adepts...

Very unorthodox builds still i prefer the classic 66644 on human and asari
