They all seem either too tanky or able to dish out too much damage. They seem to lack basic troops like cannibals, marauders or husks/assult troopers, centurions or guardians/troopers, rocket troopers or hunters/troopers, captains or abominations.

Maybe I can add a few assault troopers.
Thanks for the heads up.

There will be too many units then. I think you should just tone down 3 of the avengers and LOKI, ORCUS and FENRIS mechs. maybe remove your own mech ideas. They're good, but it feels like there's too many mech units already. Compare it to already-existing factions.

Okay...

I'll need time to think about this one.

I've toned down the Loki, Orcus and Arsenal Mechs. They also have a layer of health instead of armour.
That way the biotic squadmates won't feel redundant.

Since this faction dishes out more assault troopers than any other faction, they're a faction with a lot of fire power. Making them extremly hard to take down.

Loki, Orcus and Arsenal Mechs make up 50% of enemies on Bronze, 50% of enemies on Silver, 50% of enemies on Gold and 50% of enemies on Platinium. The whole point of the faction is the trooper enemies and their tactical movments. They are supposed to overrun the squadmates with firepower.

The Mechs are supposed to be much tougher than the Geth. Taking Mechs down on Bronze is supposed to be as challenging as taking down Geth on silver.

More money and experience points are awarded to players who kill oponents in the Avenger and Mech factions than any other faction to make up for the fact that they're harder to take down.

Now even more glorious. Good idea on preventing gold and platinum from being cheap and boring boss spam.

I've always liked enemies that can are both able to be killed easily but can also kill you just as easily.
That's why I wanted a faction that focused on troopers over all other enemy types.

In The Avenger faction I've added two new foes.

Winter Mist (a reaperised Krogan with a cryo version of a flame thrower) and Slasher (a reaperised Drell with two blades).

These two act as trooper class enemies.

i dont care what the other guys is saying, this was great at the beginning, i dont think either of the factions were overpowered, as you did a good job balacing them. I simply think you made the drell and krogan avengers a little too squishy. the krogan, if simply based off the drawing, should be a little more of a pyro, considering the artist's description, the drell seems a little squishy as well. the drawing said he could fire from their armatures. i would keep this attribute, because i think that an enemy, unless it's a husk, that cant do anything but melee and be weak sucks. also, with the new retaliation characters, a slightly harder challenge is somewhat necessary.

keep up the great work Image IPB

Dark Sartris.

I've buffed both the Winter Mist (Krogan) and Slasher (Drell)

I didn't want a straight up pyro class since we already have that enemy type amongst the Geth.
So I have stuck to my guns with a cryo version, but I have buffed it's damage output greatly.

Both the Winter Mist and the Slasher are still trooper class enemies, but they are much harder to take down.

These factions just seem too difficult. Just about every enemy has some sort of special trait that is able to wreak havoc on players. Some enemies need to have low damage output, low diversity of attacks, and little protection.

Also, why is the YMIR built up to be more powerful than an OGRE? If my memory serves me, the OGRE mechs are gigantic and shoot lazers. If anything, they should be the top-boss level mech, with YMIRs playing a role similar to a beefed-up Brute.

I can rework some of these ideas.

Debuff some of the enemies hitpoints.
Debuff some of their attacks and attack variety.
Debuff some of the attack damage.

In the end of the day, this is merely a concept that won't be implemented.
So it's kind of difficult to really imagine playing against these.

Balance changes usually come about as a result of playing against the enemies.
Since there is no simulation available, I really can't for the life of me tell what works well and what doesn't.

But I'll give it a shot anyway.

I'll let you guys know when I'm done.Image IPB

About the two new factions.

I wanted them to be tougher than what we already have.
But perhaps I went way to far.

I haven't actually played the Infiltrator game. So I never faced the OGRE Mechs. I always imagined YMIR to be more powerful, since well in Mass Effect 2 they were really tough.

So I can easily switch them around and nerf the YMIR.

I wanted something that was a little bit different from other enemy types.
I didn't want a faction with enemies that were the same as what we already have.
Maybe "Winter Mist" was a step in the wrong direction.

Keep the suggestions coming.

One person on this thread suggested Mercenaries as a faction.

I haven't figured out a way to make them fit Mass Effect 3 multiplayer.
I could suggest them as a faction for future multiplayer.

But for now I want to focus on The Avengers and Mechs.
Make them challenging without making them too challenging.
Make them interesting and different.
As some of the posters have pointed out, The Avengers and Mechs need improvement.

And more charging and headbutting. He's a reaperised krogan. He should be everything the brutes were supposed to be.

These are cool. I think mechs is a no brainer and all of the reaperized characters? Yikes i bet players wouldnt complain about collectors anymore.
