yeah i was going to defend this guy.... until i did some math....
so get the lone wolf challenge you would at the minimum solo 5 silver 2 gold and 1 plat. completing it 85 times will bring it to total games played to 680 games. but it only shows that he played 330 games... huhhhh how does that compute??? maybe i'm missing something... hmmmmm
I had a good think about this, and purely for the purposes of education here, this is what I think is happening:
For Solo Mastery:
Completing 1 Platinum, counts also as 1 Gold, 1 Silver AND 1 Bronze (yes, all together you get 4)
Completing 1 Gold counts also as 1 Silver AND 1 Bronze (you get 3)
Completing 1 Silver counts also as 1 Bronze completion
Get any 3 maxed, and you get Mastery, with ranks still remaining in the 4th that is uncompleted.
If you work the system well, you can do it like this:
1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 3 Silver => Mastery with 5 ranks in Bronze
then
1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 1 Silver, 2 Bronze => Mastery with 3 ranks in Silver
then
1 Platinum, 1 Gold => Mastery (due to Silver maxing as well), with 2 ranks in Bronze
then
1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 3 Silver => Mastery with 7 ranks in Bronze
then
1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 1 Bronze => Mastery with 2 ranks in Silver
then
1 Platinum, 1 Gold, 1 Silver => Mastery with 3 ranks in Bronze
...and so on...
Just make sure that when you gain Mastery that you leave at least 2 more games to achieve completion in either Bronze or Silver.
As you can see, once you start the sequence, the subsequent masteries can occur fairly quickly without that many more matches.
I ran through it, and I estimate that you can basically obtain Solo Mastery somewhere between every 3.5 -> 3.75 successful games on long term averages using that system.
If he's doing it like that, then that explains how.
